When do you plan to introduce solids? E is 5 months old and I'd planned to hold him off til 6 months (because I'm lazy) but he's trying to get everyone's food. We skip cereal and do homemade purées. When do/did you start solids? I don't wanna!!!!!
5 months or maybe a week or two before because he was obsessed and constantly wanting our food. He eats an insane amount and it's costing me a fortune!

I'm waiting as long as possible!! Lol I couldn't wait to start with X and then I realized how much work it is. I'll wait until A is at least 6 months. He has a hyperactive gag reflex so don't think it will go well.
Eta: We skipped cereal for X and started with purées like sweet potato. He hated it. He kept grabbing at my food so I just started BLW. His first real food was turkey meatloaf! I hope A is the same. Sames me from extra work if we all eat the same thing.

I'm also worried about food allergies. His diapers have gone back to green Wonder if I need to cut soy now. That will suck so bad!

Oh man that sucks! I'm sorry. A still has funky poop. I don't remember the last time he had a normal poop. It was a LONG time ago. I don't think I can physically (or emotionally) cut out anymore.
We did BLW with Matilda except it was more like half n half because daycare would only feed purée
This time I will prob do the same but also will hold off until 6 months because of laziness, making purées added to my list of shit to do in the evenings after they are finally in bed.. Will put off as long as possible

How is his temperament? S's diapers are pretty green but she's a happy baby so I'm not super concerned. V had the same thing but she was miserable. I cut dairy, soy, peanuts and eggs, but her poop never stopped being green.
I make my own purées as well and will probably start around 5 months. I love when they are eating solids and it takes the pressure off a bit of having to pump so much at work (if it's his only food source I feel like I have to reach a certain quota)
Emerson Kate, born 38w5d on 4/6/12 at 6:02 p.m., 5 lbs 13 oz and 18 3/4 inches. Lucas Matthew, born 39w5d on 4/11/14 at 8:20 a.m., 7 lbs 4 oz and 20 inches.

Hmmmm it's hard to say. The last few days, he's been uber cranky. I can't tell if he's teething or what? He'd been fine with me just off dairy. Then all of a sudden, green diapers. He doesn't seem bothered by his tummy though.

I haven't pumped in about a month. I've been wondering about my supply too. He's been taking both sides when he usually only takes one. I've upped my water intake and will go back to an oatmeal breakfast.

A's miserable
I'm sorry. I will never forget how awfu those first few months were with V.
Not quite 4 months yet but I'm holding off as long as possible. I'd be content to exclusively nurse until 1 at this point, the thought of possibly dealing with another picky eater is not exciting.

It's the curse of being a mom to boys! Lol
This is also why I'm waiting. I'm already going broke on food. No need to add another eater in there!
I wonder if it will take the pressure off pumping but then, purées are so low cal I don't think they affect the milk intake much
I feel like it wasn't until I started sending yogurt that Matilda actually reduced her milk intake and she was still taking 3 bottles a day anyway even when she was almost 1!
If she shows signs of interest in food I'm going for it this time and not waiting until 6 months. I'd like to not deal with a purée refuser, refusal of spoon feeding and picky eating this time around. I think waiting until 6 months contributed to a lot of those hurdles with L.

Well C still hates solids, but he grabs everything. But I what I really wanted I contribute to this, EnchantedSoul, is he teething? Sometimes when A would get teeth in and she was drooling a ton, she'd get some green diapers from swallowing lots of saliva? Maybe that's it?

Yes he is. He has been gnawing and drooling on things for about two months now, it's ridiculous there are no teeth in sight!

Calvin was doing the same for months then one day, at 5 months, there were 2 little teeth buds.
We have been going really slow with Em. Shortly after 6 months we started giving her baby cereal a couple times a day. I added in purees a couple weeks later and now at 8 months she get cereal some mornings and either purees or a little of what were having for dinner.
I wish I could just breast feed for a year and then start with real food. Feeding them is so much easier when they are a year old.
