Both boy have appointments today (S has his 9 month well baby and E has a weight check). We couldn't get in with our normal doctor, so I don't know the person we are seeing. Our doctor is very mellow about E's size. We are on the same page that he is a smart, healthy, happy boy who happens to be very petite. I just worry a different doctor might be more alarmist. Please send us some positive thoughts for a good doctor, at least some weight gain, well behaved boys during two back to back appointments and S tolerating his shots well. I'll be happy when this is over!
I hope it all goes well. Just remember--doctors prefer to look at the growth pattern, not a single point of data. If this doctor comments on it, remind them of that and that he's been growing at a steady rate and has no other indicators of anything being wrong.

Good luck! I know exactly how you're feeling. Her weight checks always make me stress. I hope that this new/other doctor can see that he is following his own chart and clearly thriving.
It went well! I liked the doctor and she had the same tiny but healthy perspective. She was impressed by his other milestones. E was 32.5 in and 23.2 pounds. That was just over a half pound gain since his two year and half an inch taller. Still on his itty bitty curve (below the 3% curve). S was 19.5 pounds and 27 inches. Short and chubby! The 6% for hight and nearly the 50% for weight. Good on all his milestones.
Glad it went well! D has a weight check tomorrow and I'm sure her stats will be almost exactly the same as E's
Good luck tomorrow! Our little peanuts are fine
I'm jealous of you doctor's easy going diagnosis of just being tiny. I'm hoping Peyton's weight check next month her pedi will finally just agree she is going to be small. She's been eating so much better, but DH and I are both small and I feel like at this age, most toddlers aren't gaining all that much anyways. Sorry for the rant, I'm glad your boys' check ups went well!

Laura, we feel really lucky too! Whenever I read your posts, I feel bad for the amount of stress/pressure you are dealing with. Our doc/the nutritionist he sent us to (just to see if she had any ideas that could help when his weight really got stuck for awhile) stress that our job is to put a variety of good foods in front of him and his job is to decide how much to eat. I struggle with this when he is having a picky toddler day and I want to push him to eat more, but they really think avoiding it being a power struggle results in kids eating more at the end of the day. Both my H and I are also on the smaller side, so my doctor is also open to him just being genetically small too. I hope your visit goes well and your doctor is reasonable. It I seems like P has done some awesome growing lately! Hopefully that gets celebrated!

These are close to V's stats except she's probably 1.5 inches shorter.
