My friend created a 60 day money challenge boot camp thing on FB. So I've joined and hoping to get into a groove now (church mouse poor) so that when I start making mm peanuts again I be in an even better place.
What's so great is the group is people who are in my similar holey shoes vs diamond crusted shoes.
I mentioned this a couple days ago, but we paid off our second mortgage this month AND i just got a raise!
in the small victories camp: I just called my internet provider to get service cause ours hasn't been working for several days. they're sending someone out with a new modem tomorrow and they gave me a $15 credit for the time it's been out. nice, i didn't even think to ask for that!

I had a huge amount of dental work done and my insurance doesn't cover it. I asked for a discount and got it. Instead of $1000, I paid just under $700.

I'm proud of my H, he was very MM yesterday.
I had a $10 coupon + 15% coupon for JC Penney. He went through the clearance racks to find a few things and ended up getting a long-sleeved dress shirt, 2 sweaters and a t-shirt for 11 cents. I guess no one wants to buy sweaters when it's 100 degrees out

H is starting the CPA exam soon. We had set aside money to pay for a specific review course that was going to cost around $3500. After doing some research, he has decided to use a different course that will only cost about $1700. It's like we just made $1800!
H also just got a promotion with a 10% raise a few weeks ago. He's also getting a small bonus for a project he just completed at work. Both excellent things!

Well, mine is sort of an AW and sort of an "oh crap". DH found out yesterday that his office is going remote.
On the plus side, we will now get free internet, a new printer and new office furniture plus the tax writeoff. And he will save the 75 minute commute one way every day, so that's great.
However, I currently WFH. So we will both be home all day. Really not sure how this will work without us killing each other.
I have kicked my Starbucks habit. It made me sick to think about drinking away all of that money with nothing to show for it. Instead of near daily I am down to maybe 2 or 3 times a month.
I got lunch for free today. I went for lunch at the same place a couple of weeks ago and some how they forgot to enter my order. They were very apologetic and gave me a $15 gift card to come back another day. Went back today, got lunch, a beer, and 3 cookies, one for me and my two friends, and did not spend a dime. WIN!
We have a few trees that are diseased and need to be taken down, one of which will cost eleventy billion dollars. Luckily (? maybe) one of the companies that we've had out to get estimates from suggested we call the power company and use words like danger tree etc to get them to come and look at it since it's near some power lines towards the back of of yard.
The power company came out Monday and determined yes, it's a dangerous fall hazard and they will take down everything above the lines immediately which is probably 70% of the huge tree. DH hopes to bribe whatever company they hire with additional cash to just take the whole thing down while they're here.
The lowest estimate we had to take this thing out was over $2,000 so even if it saves us a bit of that, I'm relieved.
Mr. Pom ordered my anniversary band. We hope it is done in time for our 10th anniversary. It's exactly what I want. A right hand ring, we designed it and even negotiated $1,200 off the quote. I did try on a $70k ring that was almost exactly the setting of my band other than the giant, stunning diamond protruding off the center like a tiny mountain. It was too flashy, so I went classy That's MM right?
I did a few stressful rounds of negotiating related to my move to London and got to a pretty great resolution yesterday. I'm proud of myself for sticking to my guns and getting what I needed. So happy that's over!
Yay for you and your newly negotiated expat package!
Full out brag: This one looks AMAHZING on me (Ted Baker)
Liberty London one of their classic scarves with a limited edition animal print overlay:
From Fever London which is adorable shop and I have a bunch of other ones from here too. I adore this one, it makes me feel like a true patriot, too - USA, USA, USA
Some PIPs for UnderProtest From Fever London which is adorable shop and I have a bunch of other ones from here too. I adore this one, it makes me feel like a true patriot, too - USA, USA, USA
How is the fit on Fever London stuff? It looks like their smallest size is 6. What does that equate to in the US sizing?
I am a very reliable US size 6, and the UK 10 was perfect for me. Fever is my new obsession, I think I bought 4 dresses from there. :-#
You may have started a new obsession with me! Its not terribly expensive and I like the vintage look. How nice were the shop people? Will I be escorted out the door if I try to go shopping with my twin toddlers and a massive stroller?
UnderProtest - GO! Also, eat at Yalla Yalla around the corner, it is delish. The shop people were nice, not snooty at all and they have REAL vintage in store as well. You will absolutely adore it.

Thanks so much! I will definitely check it out!
P.S. I wouldn't mind if you posted your other frocks.
My new job will pay 20% more in salary than my old job. But > 50% more total compensation, once you factor in target bonus, stocks, matching, etc. yay! And i am super excited about the work and the company.
