I wanted a vbac and my doctor and NP were on board with that from the beginning. However, I ended up with a RCS at 40+4 because I was showing signs of pre-e and we made the decision that it would be better for both of us to have P out in a couple of days (decided at my appointment on 40+2) instead of waiting even longer for me to have the vbac.
All that was to say to do your research, weigh the options, and go for the vbac if you want.
I chose RCSs after my first experience (40 hour labor, got to 9.5, big headed baby, personal medical issue that can't handle big babies vaginally). We did some U/Ss on Anna and she was tracking to have the same head stats so I went with a RCS. My Dr is EXTREMELY VBAC supportive and has a primary C/S rate of 13% so I know my first was warranted (not just a Dr. wants to go golfing so pressures the patient into it situation) and I also knew that I did NOT want a repeat experience of the first time. I also have seen tragedies that have occurred with IRL friends from VBACs, which colors my opinion even though both cases were a rare event. Both CS #2 and #3 were calm and fairly easy recoveries, and I got a bonus of getting my abs sewn up a bit where they split at the bottom during my last pregnancy.
Please don't be scared by anecdotes. Birth is scary and all births first, second, or 19, vaginal, c-section, at home, in hospital, etc include risks. Looking at the data, for all things birth can be helpful. You have two very safe options and a say in what happens, that's a good thing!
Oh no! I have heard from so many women - including in this thread! - that their planned repeat c-section was so much calmer and a generally much better experience than their first. I bet having your regular OB will be so reassuring.
I wholeheartedly suggest taking a tiny leap of faith over to the crunchy side and taking the time to prepare yourself emotionally for your next birth. <3
Thanks ladydi and thedahliharpa it's just so close but still can happen naturally. Like so many people posted they don't want to go through the whole labor process again and then have the csection. I met with the osteopathic manipulation dr again today to try and get baby in a good position. So only time will tell

Thank you I will have to check these out. I tend to be more crunchy in a lot of my choices so it's kind of surprising to me that I am not leaning more heavily towards VBAC.
Since my first csection wasn't planned it was not the most pleasant experience My epidural wasn't working so they had to redo it in the or. Also it wasn't my regular Ob. I'm hoping that since this time it's scheduled and with my regular Ob I will be more relaxed. I was having panic attacks on the table last time.
It's going to be okay, I promise. Please don't let this thread give you anxiety. I had a panic attack with my first too. I was certain I was dying... I was so dramatic my H broke down and could barely stand. His mom had to catch him. Not a good experience. You have knowledge and experience on your side and if your experience is anything like my second delivery, you will feel really positive at the end. The ONLY thing that happened that caused minor stress during my CS was after Oliver was delivered I started to feel a bit nauseas and the anesthesiologist put an alcohol wipe under my nose and it kicked it out immediately. If you feel nauseas ask for this! I swear by it one and I used that trick when I had the infamous stomach bug too. It'll be okay. Breathe.

I'm so sorry I missed your first post and just read your second post thinking it meant you were doing RCS. It sounds like you have a great plan in place and are doing everything you can to be prepared either way!
