I wear speedo vanquisher optical goggles. They fit me the best and I'm comfortable in them. I don't really treat them very well, because I figure I'll need to change the prescription every year (ish) anyhow. I did not replace them this year because I just haven't been swimming enough to make it worth it to order a new pair. BUT at the 5k two weeks ago, I had SERIOUS problems with leaking and fogging. SERIOUS. Like, stopping every 10 pulls or so to adjust because I couldn't see. I probably lost 10 minutes in the swim just from adjusting my dang goggles. I pushed non-replacement a little too far.
I wandered over to amazon to place my order, since I have an OWS on Saturday. I was all "I'll just get the same diopter as last year - 3.0 ... oh, maybe I should call the eye doc and verify that my prescription didn't go up ..." Called the eye doctor. The office lady was all "Uh, your diopter is -2.5. Not -3.0. Weren't you having headaches with your old goggles?" I was. But I blamed it on capping, because it eased when I took off the cap (and the goggles at the same time).
OMG, DERP. I feel like a total moron.
Moral of the story/TL;DR - Check the mother effing prescription before you mother effing order.
