I went through my OP and wrote down all of the suggested anti-nausea meds and DH spent several days researching them.
We met with the oncologist today and DH said he wants to try new anti-nausea meds and if they don't improve his overall feeling within two weeks, then he might be willing to go back and try one other med. After that, if nothing else works, he wants to discuss options & prognosis if he quits the chemotherapy pills.
I think the combination of the chemo pills and the antibiotics are what's causing him so much nausea but he cannot stop the antibiotics because they're being used to keep the allergic reaction at bay. (Can any of the medical people explain how an antibiotic can work like that?)
For now, he will continue with his treatment and he should be able to pick up the new anti-nausea meds tomorrow.
TL;DR: DH is NOT stopping treatment for now! he will consider other meds.
Thank you so much to everyone, especially those who made the suggestions. You may have given my husband a chance to have a life that he is happy and content with and I can't thank you enough.

Hooray! I really hope this works and that he starts to feel better. That's so awesome that he's willing to try more options. And major high fives to the people who were able to make suggestions!
Yeah! Good news!! Nausea is the pits, and I so hope it gets better for him. I think certain classes of antibiotics (piperazines) treat nausea by inhibiting a histamine response which some how decreases nausea. I'm assuming it's a medication like cyclizine as it's often used to treat nausea. I don't think it's exactly known how it inhibits nausea, but it does seem to work for a lot of people!
