Do you have a local dry cleaner who specializes in wedding dresses? They would probably be the best ones to clean it since they are used to cleaning dresses with all types of beading
Lurker chiming in, it's a beautiful dress! I would buy it. I'd take it to a dry cleaner that does wedding dresses like PPers said. I think it would be okay.
It's polyester. I wouldn't pay to have polyester dry cleaned. It's a fairly durable material. Obviously throwing it in the washer would mess up the beads and throwing in the dryer could possibly mess up the heads and polyester. It should be fine with hand washing and air drying. Most clothing isn't nearly as delicate as the tags would like you to think.
If we were talking about a $2000 dress, I'd maybe have reservations (though I'd assume that a good dry cleaner would be able to take care of it, and if you couldn't do it locally, there are places you can ship it to).
But for $100? I'd totally take the risk. Chances are you won't spill anything on it, and if you do, a good dry cleaner in the area could take care of it, and if not, you'd be out $100 minus whatever the value of wearing a dress once and LOVING yourself in it is. That's not a terrible deal.
that dress looks even better on me than it does on the model because I'm not as hippy...I'm more of an apple and this just curves in the right places even though it's a sheath which I normally can't wear. I almost didn't order it, but it's so cute, I had to. I now feel justified ordering so many dresses because you really can't tell until you put them on. The one I thought was 'the one' on line just hung on me like a sack, and the runner up gapped badly in the back.
as for the sofas yeah arrived in time early in fact, they held it for a few weeks for us until we were ready for delivery...couple of small problems with it. Front panel on the love seat had a frayed corner but they say that's an easy replace (I need to call and schedule that!). And the back cushions for some reason the zippers are not finished well...the sewing across the bottom just stops but they haven't knotted it or anything so it's unraveling a little. I can fix that easily though so I told them to just leave it if it didn't void my warranty.
The grouping looks great...I was nervous because I picked the chair for the corner without my H there and I spent more than we had budgeted, but I just felt like it was the perfect chair...and it is...it's everyone's favorite...the kind of chair that gives you a little hug when you sit in it and the fabrics just work. Now I have to figure out curtains and paint.
I am so glad that you found "the" dress. That's the one thing about trying stuff on. My favorite pieces are never ones that I imagine will work work for me. I am sure you will be stunning! Glad you got your sofas too. I was kind of worried after I promised you all the good Karma after my ordeal. LOL. I'd love to see pictures when you get it all done
I don't know about that dress but you can wash almost all wedding dresses by turning them inside out, on gentle. for serious. even most beaded dresses. With this being hand beaded, maybe not. I should add - hang to dry, most are fine and require no or little iron touch up.
