DS3 and DS2 both have soccer at same time on opposite sides of town.
I also have back to school night at the same time.
DS2 can car pool with his coach so that's good, but DS3's team, I don't know anyone else except another mom with the same problem. I think he's going to miss it and he loves soccer. He was playing with the 4th graders this morning at drop off and they were commenting how good he is.
ETA: when is a good time to start baby swim lessons? Both the Y and the swim school in my city can start at 6 mos, but I'm not sure if that's actually a good age or if I should wait till closer to 1 year.
We started at 2 because that is the youngest our place will take kids without parents in the water.
We skipped "mommy and me" type lessons because we have a pool so we could get our kids used to the water on our own.
This board has a lot of first birthdays next month. Any party plans coming along? MrsAxillaVelar Fricativepescalita2curlydogs who am I forgetting? Yes. I plan on mooching ideas.
We're doing the full shebang with our giant families like we did with A, because we're crazy (this is life with two - we've been whittling away at these last few silly stupid projects to finish off the patio basically all year and made nearly zero progress, but we used some grandma time last weekend to get out the saw).
Dog theme, which consists of a bone invitation that says "Come. Sit. Stay", pawprint cup cakes, and maybe some balloons? I'm doing a simple monthly photo banner (we have A's and we're adding annual photos, so it'll become an every year thing). We'll smoke something, I think we landed on pulled pork. Prob veggie chili, salad, I'll make my mom make a potato salad. We made a session IPA and a red on tap.
I sent 30 invites. We could have close to 50 people. Carl has 9 out of towners coming in. Basically my 1st birthday plan is figure out how to feed and house all these people, and then don't do that again until they graduate.

This is kind of a useless answer, but we started A at 6 months. He did it for about a year/year and a half before we decided life was too crazy to fit in weekly lessons. I feel like it was good for him at that age, but it took awhile for him to start to get anything out of it, at first he just stared around overstimulated by all the activity. Then we hit a point around the "no fly zone" (14ish mo) where tantrums could make it a half hour out of a horror movie.
So we haven't gone back with J yet, thinking we may wait until A is 3 and can do non-parent lessons. No idea what it will be like to start lessons with the insanity that is a young toddler.

Sorry, we scrapped our big bash because our house closing will happen around her birthday. We are just having a small party at my ILs house.

S's is in Nov. so I have some time. He's a little too early to completely re-purpose B's card that I designed, but I may do something similar. Fall leaves and pumpkins maybe?
