My best friend from college went to the doctor last week because she had been fainting. They found a mass on her brain during the CT and she has been going through some more testing the last few days to determine what it is. I think I've mentioned that a close friend of my H and I has brain cancer. They have three little girls between 1.5 and 5, and she is only 26. She has had to endure surgery, radiation, and chemo this year alone. Her symptoms were more severe than what my friend above has been dealing with...but I swear if another friend gets brain cancer, I may flip out.
_______
Alright, so apparently she has mass that is growing and causing bleeding. They believe she has been having seizures and that the headaches she has been having were a result of the bleeding. They are sending her to meet with a neurosurgeon at the state university a few hours away, where she will be having two procedures. She is staying calm and cracking jokes, but I know she is worried. They told her to absolutely minimize stress, as this type of thing can preclude aneurysms. She will have a hard time with that, as she stresses over everything. So like any far away friend feeling totally out of control, I'm off to Target to compile items for a no-stress package. Any ideas? I'm thinking nail polish, dads, magazines, candy, etc.

Thanks all. She just emailed and said she will know more this afternoon. She keeps saying that she doesn't "feel" like it's a tumor, for whatever that is worth.

I'm sorry I have a friend that was diagnosed with brain cancer around 10 years ago and he's doing well. They couldn't remove the tumor but they've been able to keep it stable. Hoping your friend either doesn't have cancer or it is at least relatively easy to manage!

Thanks ladies!
I went with a few bargain-bin but awesome movies: Mean Girls, Grease, and Dirty dancing, plus candy, magazines, a journal, a slinky, a mason jar mug I'm going to fill with jelly bellys or "chill pills", and threw in some lotion and earrings I had at the house that were brand new.
