I admittedly haven't been to the salon in about six months, but I just went in the bathroom and found a whole bunch of grays on the top of my head. I'm going to have to start coloring every six weeks now won't I? Ugh

lol. I was in high school with my first gray hair. Most of mine are nowhere near my part, so I can hide them well. I do have one asshole stupid hair that is right up front and center, though.

I was 28. Just a few days after my mom had been teasing me about how it wouldn't be long, and I would be shocked at how fast they pop up/how different they are then the rest of your hair.

I was five. My mom said she freaked out and yanked it out so fast. I started noticing when I was 20. I would dye my hair all the time in high school. Never saw any then.

Others noticed a couple when I was about 16 and I steadily went grayer. I started coloring to cover the gray by about age 27. I am now 48 and when my roots are bad, it looks like I am basically all gray.
I have many friends my age who still have NO gray hairs, or just a few.
ETA: My hair appears to be pure white and it is long and thick. I think it would look really great if I grew it out and let it be all white but I don't quite have the guts to do that yet.
I skipped right over gray and have gone straight to white.
I noticed my first wiry white son of a bitch hair when I was 30. I was pregnant with my first, and I am *positive* the pregnancy hormones starting that bullshit.
I had one when I was an infant. I really noticed them when I was around 10. Fucking Irish hair.
Interesting, is this true? I am Irish genetically but was adopted at birth so I have no bio relatives to compare myself to. I started going gray very early.
I also read somewhere that redheads tend to go gray more quickly/earlier.

My dad claimed I had a pure white one at 18 and yanked it out. That was the same time my BFF decided that it would be fun to change hair colors up so I think it was just an over highlighted one. At 32 I haven't seen another one.
Don't get cocky. I thought I didn't either and made a passing comment as such to my stylist a few weeks ago. She promptly informed me that I sure as hell do. :-(
