I just realized that today is my 9 year anniversary at this job. Yikes.
I've also discovered that annoying, no-internal monologue coworker has another annoying habit. When sending an email, she puts pretty much the whole body of her email in the freaking subject line. And changes it with every email so the thread doesn't stay together in a conversation. She also starts the "subject" line with "from xxx:" WTF? Does she not realize that all of this information does not need to go in one place on the email?
I saw on twitter last night that the Ferguson cop has a gofundme and sas raised over $200k. The comments are disturbing and I am frustrated and saddened he has raised more money than the Michael Brown memorial fund.
All week I have been missing my work badge. This means I've been unable to punch in/out and I've been making my timekeepers life hell for the week...searched everywhere at home, drawers, both cars etc...uh yeah I put on my coat for the first time this week and it was in the pocket. ugh
frkls make sure you keep copies of your rent checks and get receipts if you can. I see enough batshit crazy landlords in my line of work and the tenants who keep records are always best prepared to deal with them.
I think my too-good-to-be-true Craigslist townhouse rental decision has come home to roost. We mailed our first rent check from Tennessee before we moved up here in June. H hand delivered our July rent in cash because we didn't have new checks yet. We have a copy of the August check dated the first and cashed in the second. We got an email from the landlord yesterday railing us about being late every month and being "bad tenants" and how she expected better from a pastor's family. omg.
WTF? I would write back and ask if he's sure he is emailing the right tenants...
Last night was a big night in our household. Andy went pee in the potty! The best part was his reaction. He was SO PROUD. Grinning ear to ear, giggling uncontrollably, calling for H to come see, and yelling I DID ITTTT!!!!!
When he got off the potty, he turned around, leaned in really close (like head in the bowl close), put his hands over his head and yelled YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! into the bowl. Lol.
My coffee this morning was not good, I interupted the brew before it was done and yuck! No amount of milk and splenda can save this.
There is street work on my road to install gas lines and I predict the work will stop directly in front of my house when they break for the weekend and we'll have all sorts of traffic problems at the end of our driveway for two days. This will put H in a great mood.
I'm working today in a beach community. Beaches + Friday = chaos and no parking. Way to plan, Jenn.
omg, candreco that would drive me INSANE. Please tell me at least this woman is old and doesn't "get" technology!
She's not really old enough to use it as an excuse, but she's always been a little, um, eccentric?
frkls She's nuts, email back, BRIGHTLY, to confirm that rent is due on the first, as your bank account shows that everything has been paid on time and you just want to clear up any misunderstandings!

Just saw in the paper that the guy involved in the armed robbery that I also suspected of breaking into our cars used a gun that was stolen from another person's vehicle. I've been willing to give a little bit of benefit of the doubt, just in case it was a coincidence, but no longer. I'm certain he's the thief. Bastard.
AND I got my first paycheck in almost four years today. I'm super proud of myself.

Also, and I dunno if this should go in a flameful, but I'm feeling a bit nervous about my date because I feel like he's "out of my league". His dad is a dentist, and his parents are on the board of a sailing club. They have a boat and he sails all the time. He's on the sailing team. He works as an engineer. He's funny.
studytime45, buck up buttercup! You're going back to school to better yourself & your career prospects, there is a lot to respect there! You're facing some of your biggest anxieties head on and taking them down (driving, living in a new place, quitting smoking). Be proud and confident
My dad watching my kids today is working out better than I thought. He's planning to cut my grass and take us all out to dinner tonight. I'm so thankful for him. He gives me my sanity back with things like this.
studytime45 Get it girl!!! What are you in school for? If he's a dentist he was probably in school for.ev.er so you probably have more in common than you think.
Plus sailing is fun! (Well the one time I did it, it was really fun)

I just go to school. lol
Go out and have fun! Just going to school should not make you feel out of anyone's league. School takes hard work and you are working hard to make a better future for yourself.

My children are now into making card houses. Or card castles as they call them. The 9 yr old is getting all dramatic when hers fall down. Oh, the teen years are not far away.
H comes home a week from today! All sorts of good thoughts about this, but I'm going to have to relearn how to sleep in the bed without starfishing.
H and I butt heads about stuff like air conditioner use. As crunchy as I am, I like comforts. H doesn't want to spend money. Weirdly, I have not turned on the air conditioners once since he's been gone. I think it may have more to do with the fear of running out of money. He took all the grocery money to NY with him (by agreement, he had to.)
Both kids are sick and not even exaggerating, Theo was up no less than 20 times last night. He was tossing and turning and whining all night long. Sofia just slept right through. I guess the man cold starts early.
I have missed this place like crazy!!!!!!!!!!!! Work has been hopping with the start of the semester approaching and home has been crazy too. I feel like I need a vacation day to catch up on everything I have missed around here!
Good news is we sold our house!! I knew it would happen at the busiest time at work though but we'll deal. Closed yesterday, thankfully we listed with 30 days after closing possession because we don't yet have clear to close on our new house. The timing of everything has been a little stressful.
I feel like this is all I post about, but it's the only remotely interesting thing in my life right now that I can post about. I'll at least move it to randoms.
I hung my art finally, and I got my yellow shelf! I also got a bed, but the mattress doesn't come till tomorrow, so a bare bed frame isn't all that interesting to PIP.
TGIF! And TGF DayQuil, which is the only thing allowing me to appear like I am a functioning human today.
L has been super happy and smiley the last couple of days, despite wicked diaper rash, and I'm trying to enjoy it while not breathing on her too much - largely because I'm sure she'll have my cold in a matter of days, and then we'll be in another downward spiral of uncomfortable, shitty sleep. I told H last night that it's like the universe is trying to use sleep deprivation to break us for the last month, and it's almost winning.
I complain a lot lately. So on a happier note, I'm going to see my parents tomorrow and then we're going to the zoo with friends on Sunday. The weather is supposed to be beautiful, so I'm really looking forward to it! And thennnn, we leave for vacation next Saturday. Cannot wait.
