Today is my last (week)day off before starting a new job! I am excited and also kind of bummed, lol. It's been so nice NOT working for the last 7ish weeks But I am really looking forward to the routine and stimulation of being at work again. I feel like I waste SO MUCH TIME at home. Like today, where I have done exactly nothing and it's 11:15.
I don't feel all that nervous about starting a new job, probably because I won't be doing anything that seems outside my skill set. I am nervous about stupid details, like what's appropriate to wear and whether or not they have free coffee available. I'm also worried a bit about the schedule and how I'm going to work out ever (it's 8-5 and about a 45 minute commute, which means either getting up way earlier than usual or getting home really late).

Being on vacation with my ILs for a week has put them and everything they do into BEC territory. I am not a neat freak but crumbs on the counter and fingerprints on the glass-top DR table for DAYS bugs me. No, MIL, there is no way you wiped this table down yesterday. The fact that you haven't noticed how messy this place is, despite my efforts, yet judge me on my housekeeping is really getting old. FIL, it is disgusting that you are leaving rotting tomatoes out on the counter, won't let me get rid of them bc you can "cut out the bad spots" and yet threw out my perfectly good bananas bc you thought they were overripe and going to attract flies. Leaving half full cups of coffee all over pisses me off. Dump it, you can always make a new pot instead of reheating the same dregs over and over. Why did you refrigerate the already-reheated French fries that we already agreed were mediocre on Tuesday when we had them the first time? No one is going to eat them, especially not me. Not every morsel of uneaten food needs to be saved, especially if it's something we all agree wasn't worth saving. The piles of newspapers are taking over everything, to the point that the 6 person DR table has only 2 free spaces to sit. You read it, it's yesterday's news, now put it in the trash/recycling. It should not take you a half hour to make a sandwich. The kitchen is small and I'd like to eat, but I can't get in there bc you have every utensil and plate out to make your lunch and there is no room for me.
sexycarrot, they had heavy input. They chose the color out of the six options I threw out, they set the budget, and they helped find the brand when we all went to nordies and saw dresses in person last weekend. Vetoed styles were thrown out (eg no strapless for bride A and nothing shorter than 38" for bride B) and everyone stated their top 2 choices from the collection. At this point, everyone will wear either the first or second choice dress and I consider that a success.

Good news/bad news game today.
I am adapting to my meds. This means the side effects are subsiding. Yay! But this also means I'm finally feeling all the angry, frustrated, stressed feelings that were being dampened by the meds. Boo!
Also apparently the 14 year old I mentor likes my style. Given the choice to go shopping or raid my closet, she chose to raid my closet. We ended up with a duffle bag full of stuff for her. But I had to tell her no on a few pieces because I wore them recently (to work). I'm not sure if that means the kiddo likes to dress like an adult or that I dress like a teenager.
I am thinking of getting a new car this weekend because my Santa Fe needs more work than it's worth. Any thoughts on a Rav-4, Outback or Prius V? I test drove the Prius V and didn't love it, but I want to be more environmentally conscious. I need a car with an open back, not a trunk.
I had a RAV4 before my current Outback. I liked the RAV4 but the trunk space in the Outback is amazing. So great for strollers, groceries, the dog, etc. I've only seen the Prius V from the outside and, like you, want to like it for environmental reasons, but don't know if it would really work for us for practical reasons. I'm not sure if the MPG is better on the RAV4 or Outback, but I know the Outback gets great MPG - better than DH's Accord. Not sure what your commute is, but the Outback also LOVES the highway. My only complaint is that it would be nice to have a third row sometimes - that might be an option on the RAV4 - I know it used to be.
Sadly, DH has to work all weekend. So, no pickup at the airport, or at the airport bus stop (the latter is becoming more common, just due to the amount of time it takes to drive to the airport), and no DH at home when I made it here.
The trip to the airport for this flight home was a prime example of why I need to be sure to plan to arrive early at the airport. It's like everything that could go wrong, did go wrong between my hotel and the airport. It was bad enough, I was anxious about murphy showing up again and delaying my short hop flight _just_ enough to make me miss my long haul flight (didn't happen, but man, I was worried for a while... it would have been simply following the pattern of stuff for the rest of the morning...).
