What subscription box(es) are you currently getting? What's been your favorite and why? Least favorite?
I've done Ipsy (6 months), birch box (canceled after 7 months), Julep (canceled after 1 month), and I just signed up for fabfitfun. I needed new hair oil and had a $15 off code so it seemed like a fun way to get other stuff too. I'm excited to try the full size facial stuff that retails for $95.
I've enjoyed how fun Ipsy has been -- it's like getting a present every month for $10 and I like trying new things I might not pick out on my own (purple lips!). birchbox sent a lot of skincare products (meh) and I canceled when my makeup item (fun part for me) was a tinted moisturizer in deepest dark--you're not even trying!
I'm starting to get to sample overload so I'm interested in hearing more about other services which can provide the "fun!! present!!" feeling without overwhelming my sample drawers.
Before this thread, I have only heard about these from my mom.
fabfitfun is a service that sends four boxes annually for $49.99 each season; $200/annually. items are selected by Giuliana Rancic (read: her team). this box is on its way right now for $35 shipped.
Ipsy (makeup, occasional skincare) and birchbox (skincare, some makeup) are both $10/mo each; $120 annually
julep (nail polish with some lipgloss) I think was $20/mo; $240 annually but customizable. I just don't need that much nail polish.
Oh I forgot I do StitchFix. Everything I have picked up from there I get a million compliments on.
part of me can't get past the fact that I can find those items cheaper on my own, but that's not the point, right? it's fun to have a surprise box and have someone else do the heavy lifting.
I keep coming back to this one -- maybe after I bank a few paychecks. poor FI. I don't think this whole dual income thing will turn out to be exactly what he expected.(wilted)

I felt the same way but once I realized that when I shop I stick to basics and don't ever gravitate toward the items they pick out for me I realized it was worth it. Since I have such a strong basic wardrobe their pieces are usually great additions.
Plus two of my tops I get asked if I have lost weight when I wear every single time. Worth their weight in gold

sold.
if I sign up next month I will use your referral link.
I love julep mostly for the fact that it will let me skip boxes when I'm not interested in the colors that month. Do any of the other services do that?
I get a food box--does that count? It's graze. LOVE it.
Do you feel like it is a decent value? I would love to try new snacks, but I don't really want to pay $6.49 for what could only be a few bites of each item.
TryTheWorld also seems like a cool concept, but my husband shot it down. He said something about it being $45/box and that the items probably are from the US, not around the world. Grr.
steph96, the snacks are definitely small portions. But I like getting them anyway--it's the surprise of it, the unique combinations that I can't always recreate, and some nostalgia from having first got the box while living in London, and finally having it available this side of the pond.
But I think the first box is free, so worth a shot, eh? My friend prefers NatureBox--says the snacks are larger--but I'm too picky and prefer to pick and choose as Graze allows one to do.
I need to cancel julep. I believe they make you call. Thanks for the reminder!
You can cancel online on their website. I think I had to email them.
Speaking of Julep, I really disliked their box. I got 2 and both were a disappointment due to the poor nail polish quality.
Quality has been hit or miss lately. It might be climate related because all of the people that I know who have issues with goopy polish live in places that are hot and humid in the summer and their maven boxes tend to sit around in the heat for a few hours when they are delivered. I have 100+ Juleps and none of them are goopy/stringy nor do they have any other issues.
They did just add an email for cancelling. If you do need to cancel the sub call the first week of the month; calling between the 20th and the 27th is not a good idea because they get innudated with people calling about their boxes.

I get 3 boxes a month- Rainbow Honey, Nail Polish Indie Brand and Julep. The Rainbow Honey one has 2 options: a mini bag or a large bag. The mini is $13.95 and the large is $25. The mini bag contains 3 mini polishes and 2-3 travel size bath/beauty items (cuticle balm, soap, perfume, etc). The large bag contains the same items but in full size.

Mine were never goopy, but I felt like the formula could have been better. The colors aren't opaque enough and 2 coats looked bad, IMO. I found this to be the same for all 6 colors I tried so I just assumed their entire line was like this. Also, they chipped a lot faster than my OPI or Essie Polishes, and that was with a top coat (Seche vite and Poshe).
Looks like I'm the only fool that does BarkBox for my pups... Not even embarrassed because I love those dogs so much!
Can you give me an idea of what's in the boxes? My dog doesn't play with any toys, balls, etc., unless they are the kind filled with food. Would I get a lot of stuff I won't use?
I get Taste Guru (gluten free food) for the next year because I have an amazing friend who had money to burn. I love it. It's nice to know I can eat everything in it and have it be safe for me.
I had birch box for awhile, but kept getting the same things over and over and products that didn't apply to me at all so I cancelled it.

NatureBox lets you choose which snacks you want each month. I want to say their selection (which continuously changes) has about 50 or so at any given time. Right now I have maybe 20 different options listed in my pantry. Of those, I will get the first 5 choices next month.

Oh, interesting! I didn't go all the way through the registration process because it didn't seem to be the case. I also didn't like the snack options as much, but maybe if I picked mine, I would change my tune.
I have been getting Love with Food for about a year and have been very happy with their boxes. It is $10 a month and they send about 8 different single serve snacks. I like that it introduces me to foods I wouldn't have tried otherwise.
I also get birch box but I haven't been overly impressed. I loved pop sugar must have but I couldn't justify the cost on a monthly basis.
