I just had an e-mail exchange about the use of "mc" versus the Greek mu symbol to abbreviate micrograms. I tend to favor "mc," especially when putting text into some black-box submission system, which, for all I know, may garble characters and turn a mu into an m (and there's a big difference between micrograms and mg - milligrams!).
Oh, but hey, what do I know. I'm only the editor. I obviously need overly sententious clients to tell me how to do my job.
