I'd offer to play Post It Pictionary but my day has gotten so insane I barely have time to check in. I'm only here now because I finally got a chance to go to lunch.

Let's play "help Redhead Baker think of a way to remember to take her meds every day since experiencing withdrawal apparently isn't enough to make her remember"

Ok, here's a flameful--I roll my eyes whenever I see a new ice bucket video. I know it's doing good, I know-- I'm just being an old fart about the AW-ish-ness of it all.
The governor of CA dumped water on his dog yesterday instead of doing it himself.
We are going to a wedding tomorrow for a bridezilla/crazy chick who is marrying a good friend of DH. I'm debating about videotaping the ceremony because there's a good chance the mother of the groom may object during the vows and I want to be able to re-watch it.
To make it even MORE flameful - we normally give $300 per couple but we are only doing $200 for these people because a) she's crazy and b) they're super cheap (like we always have to cover their share of the tip if we are dining together).

Tape it! If she objects though, you have to post it so we can watch.
I had to pump and dump last night. There is no way on Earth that I was getting through the evening with my in laws sober. My SIL/BIL live their lives on unemployment, WIC, food stamps, pretty much any social welfare program in existence, are pregnant with their 4th (oldest is 16), and wont work because their wages would just be garnished. But I had to sit and listen at dinner about how Obama and the Democrats create nothing but moochers and "lazy ass losers" who live off of the government. Um...

I have a fantastic story from when I was phone banking for the D state senate race in my area! We're trying to reach out to R women because the opposing candidate sponsored the transvaginal u/s bill, so we suspect we may be able to court women who are socially liberal but fiscal cons. We're also using the fact that we were gerrymandered and are a brand new district without an incumbent to let people know that they need to go vote in November (and many have thanked us profusely because they had no idea and will go vote now).
So I called a woman and we always open our call asking what they think the most important issue faced by residents of PA is right now.
She launched into a diatribe about education. Okay, great! She then said that schools need to be better, but taxes need to be lower. That all the money in the world can't fix the issues with the teaching because the teachers aren't trained enough. Then said that when you consider benefits teachers are way overpaid and they shouldn't get raises for a long time because they take home a really nice paycheck and get great benefits.
At that point I was finally able to interject and just said a bland "Yes, ma'am, I understand your concerns." She then says that she knows what it's like, she used to be a teacher. They don't work hard at all and are paid to well. So, in a conversational mood I asked her how long she had been teaching. Her answer: four years. FOUR FUCKING YEARS and she thinks she knows the system and can say for sure that what's broken is the teachers are overpaid. Okay, then.
I got off the phone with her and went and told the person in charge about it and we had a great laugh. The woman running the phone bank taught for 30+ years and thought that story was hilarious (in a frightening way if the R/TP party candidate wins).

I would have been tempted to ask her why she stopped teaching? I bet dollars to doughnuts, it had to do with money, oh and that she didn't have great evaluations, you know from not working hard.

Oh, she volunteered that she only taught until she had kids then SAH (she was in her early 60s per my call sheet). Otherwise I totally would have asked why she left the profession. I'll bet she was asked to!
