I know there are several Outlander fans here. I just finished my Echo in the Bone re-read and it seemed like there were an awful lot of errors about timelines and dates. I should have written down a list so I'm trying to do this from memory with my book at home, but just curious if anyone else noticed them.
The biggest were with respect to meetings among Jamie, Claire, Ian, and William. It seemed like there were a bunch of times that Jamie, Claire, or Ian met William and then thought they hadn't seen him or vice versa since that visit when he was 12.
At one point late in the book, Ian does a double-take when he sees William and realizes that he must be Jamie's son. The problem is that this takes place months later than the time in Dismal Swamp where he saved William's life and gave him the bear claw; there's no way he couldn't have known then.
A related example was Ian twice getting a captive away from William (first Claire, then Denny Hunter), and both times saying now they were even for Ian saving William's life.
Near the end, William refers to Jamie as someone he met once when he was 12, but he had clearly met Jamie at the battlefield when Jamie gave him his hat.
Rachel also talks about her gratefulness related to Ian saving her and Denny's lives at one point when the only interaction we've seen among them is Ian dropping William off at their house. However, in the meantime William had saved their lives from the deranged couple whose home they stayed at; did she actually mean she was grateful to William?
Anyway, did it seem to anyone else that there were an awful lot of errors in this one?
