My husband does not get to sleep in on weekends, ever. I sleep in every Saturday and Sunday. I get to have my hobbies, I run/go to the gym 5 to 6 days a week for at least two hours. He uses all his vacation time to visit my family or cater to my hobbies/desires. He comes to every kid doctor appointment or keeps one of them so I can go. And if I am tired when he gets home, I take a nap and I never let him.
I give zero fucks and have no guilt about any of this. It's my trade off for sacrificing so much for his career and being a SAHM with no help. I would kill my husband if he refused to get up with the kids on weekends.
This is random, but - I really don't understand the concept of one parent sleeping in. We both hear K when he wakes up. Neither of us can fall back asleep at that time of morning. If one of us is sick or hardly slept the night before, maybe we can do it. But other than that, if the kid is up, everyone is up. I wish I could sleep in, but I guess it avoids the problem of figuring out whose turn it is.
Before you had kids, were you a sleeper? I swear I could sleep 15 hours and still be tired!

Hmmm. They could be hesitating since it's an apartment. That I get. But they keep saying they are, so I don't know. Like I said, it's just a tiny judge. It's not my place so I don't really, truly care. But without cable either it would just be nice to have something to look at during naps, lol.

Dh didn't get a day off until this year so I was used to him working everyday for years. He now gets one day of a week most of the time now and it's so nice to have that one day together as a family that I never want to leave and do me things since we never had family time for so long.

I wake up, feed Ruby, hand her over, go back to sleep.

B needs to host seminars for the rest of the husbands on this board.

Oh I can usually fall back asleep no problem, lol. If not, it's great uninterrupted probing time. You are missing out!

Oh yes, DH and I routinely slept until 10am before Kai. But we both slept that much. I think our brains are wired so that once the other person is up, we don't want to miss anything so we get up too. By "us" I mean our brains. I personally don't care about missing the early morning hours of a weekend. But my brain has other ideas.
I like hanging out and watching football. I hate southern football culture however. BUT, I like that it provides a point of commonality and community for people regardless of socio-economic background. BUT, I loathe the commercialization of college sports. BUT, I love NCAA basketball.
I'm pretty much my own UO.....
Oh, and heck yes to alone weekends. I would like my dh to visit his parents with the kid every single saturday. Ok, maybe just most Saturdays.

Word. We're the same. I picked up my life and moved to Chicago for his career. He can watch Jamie when he's home.

10am was early for me! i recently read a timehop from 5 years ago that said something like "I HAVE TO BE UP AT 9AM!" hahaha! i'd really sleep until like 1pm on the regular AS AN ADULT!
We don't really do anything in the mornings. And, I only sleep until 8:30am anyway. So that's not really "sleeping in" in the grand scheme. But it's not waking up at 6 with the kids.
i used to have trouble falling back asleep. Putting a pillow over my head works wonders.

Aw, I love football! Mostly college. Flyover states don't get pro teams, lol. I really love most sports, though. I love finding other fans and making new friends and bonding over a fair-weather allegiance!
Mostly I like eating and drinking with team spirited dinnerware.
I'd still come to your missing NFL playa party, though - you said there would be chips and dip.
I waited till I dropped A off at school to have my breakfast because A) I didn't want to share B) I wanted to put some iced coffee concentrate and chocolate chips in my "healthy" green smoothie.
I feel kind of blue about all my friends lately, but I have zero motivation to go out and meet new people. Sometimes I feel like it could be depression related but then I think it's just situational and I'm choosing not to do anything about it due to laziness. I wish I lived closer to my friends with kids that I talk to all the time.

My morning poo clogged the upstairs toilet. DH will be the one to deal with it since my attempt at plunging did nothing but make a scary scene in the toilet. I hope no one is currently eating lunch.
And what about carpet in the bathroom? Whose idea was that? If you're cold when you get out of the shower, buy some a damn space heater and some slippers!

This is us too. Maybe if DH hopped right up at the very first peep and swept both kids out of the house immediately, I could fall back asleep. But this will never happen.

My grandparents built a house and my grandmother put carpet in the bathrooms. I bet she regretted that decision when I got a stomach bug and missed the toilet when I barfed.
I sleep in every Saturday, even though Ada STTN. I look forward to it all week. I always wake up when she does but sometimes fall back asleep. If I can't fall asleep I lay there in the quiet, probe and then take a long shower.
I hate carpet. I hope to do at least the main floor in wood someday but it's so expensive

I loathe football. Mostly because I feel like most of my childhood was spent being schlepped around to my brother's football games. I wanted to go to nerd science camp and play the violin but my mom was so busy investing her time into my brother's sports life. So I have a lot of issues with football that stem from childhood resentment, ha.
My H told me he has to be gone for dinner Thursday night for a live draft for his fantasy football league. My knee jerk reaction was to be pissed off, primarily because it was football related! I guess I'll let him go. Why does it have to be a live draft? I'm trying to be level headed because DH gives me lots of breaks so I will do my best not to complain on Thursday.
And what about carpet in the bathroom? Whose idea was that? If you're cold when you get out of the shower, buy some a damn space heater and some slippers!
wait. Carpet in the bathroom? is this a thing??
My grandma has it and it's so gross!
This is a horrible thought, but I'm going to one day be responsible for selling her house and I am already anticipating the eye rolls from the buyers. Carpet everywhere, wallpaper EVERYWHERE including on the DOORS, oh my gosh.

Ummm CT isnt that far away.
I know, and you live close to my friend with kids! :Y:
I have more random confessions. I'm SLIGHTLY judging my nanny family. They've been living in this apt 8 months and literally have zero things on their walls. Every single weekend they talk about how they are going to put up all this artwork they have and they don't. It's kind of depressing being surround by stark walls all the time.

lol we've been here 2 years and I still haven't hung anything up.
