This does not answer your question, but it is my issues with blankets.
DD just turned 2 in July. Just recently she has really wanted a blanket on her. So much so, that she will wake up in the middle of the night and start crying if the blanket is not covering her. I need to find some longer blankets that will not move as much for her.
This is exactly my problem too! All of her "baby" blankets no longer cover her not-so-little anymore body (she's 36" tall!). I can't decide if I should make/ buy a larger blanket (toddler bed size?), or buy a bigger sleep sack? OR both?
DD is 37in. I have been using the A&A swaddle blankets but those will not be warm enough in the winter. I did get toddler comforter from Ikea, but that is too hot right now. Maybe there are toddler bed blankets? There must be right?
Last night my kid went to bed w/out cuddling or his "milk for bed." He just got into bed and said goodnight. Then this morning he got out of bed on his own and went to the bathroom and then went back to bed. My kid is sooo old.
How old his your son again? H and I were just wondering this weekend about at what age can they get themselves in out of bed to go to the bathroom and stuff.
@lcap I am an office products whore. I LOVE LOVE LOVE sticky notes. I might be a little bit obessesed.

UGH, I have an extra long weekend because I took Thur/Fri off, plus Labor Day. Our friends rented a beach house this week, so we've talked - literally - all summer about going down there for the end of this week. DH had the time off, great.
As we're supposed to leave in, 30 hours or so, DH just informed me he does not have tomorrow night off. WTF. We'll still join them for part of Thursday into Friday, but it's just the last minute, "I didn't quite listen when you were talking for the past two months, I screwed up and not only messed up my own fun, but plans for everyone else that had to schedule around me" that is incredibly frustrating.
I have a similar vent. One of H's best friends is the biggest fucking airhead I've ever met (not saying your H is). He's constantly forgetting plans, late to everything, runs to the store and doesn't come back for like 4 HOURS.
Every year we do a big friend LD trip to my family's beach house. This year, there are too many of us with all the kids, so we rented a friend's 2 bd apartment a block from the house for the kid-free people (incl this guy and his partner). He tells H yesterday that the boarding place can't take their dog (and it's the only place that will take him since he's not neutered), so they're just going to find a pet-friendly B&B nearby instead. RAGE. First, what are the chances they'll find a place for THIS WEEKEND? and even if they do, it just means they will really NEVER be at our house, since it'll probably be in another town anyways.
I am just sick of including them when they annoy the crap out of me and pull shit like this, but H has few friends, I feel like I can't put my foot down. I am very close to saying we're not including them next year though.
We just got back from a long weekend, we went to visit DH's parents & had a nice time.
Daycare just called to say they think M is ready to move up to the next classroom. He's only been in his current classroom since June, so not even 3 months...
@supergreen has your DH ever been tested for sleep apnea?
We had something similar happen with DS he was supposed to move to the early preschool 2 on Aug 25, but he moved to EPS2 in June. Then 2 weeks ago they said they thought he was ready for the preschool class which started on Aug 25.
I was skeptical but they potty trained him last week and he did awesome yesterday in his new class. It is bigger, has a ton of stations and they get to use the bigger playscape during outside time. They wear uniforms in this class and he looks like such a big kid *sniff*
Glad to hear your DS is doing great with the move. I do think the new class will offer more challenges for M which would be awesome. They also do more group activities which he will love. I know they focus more on potty training too. I am going to stop to chat with the new teacher tonight at pick up to get more details about their routine & curriculum.

Blanket people (LOL) can you just get normal sized blankets?
this is what i did. my son is in his crib converted to a toddler bed, and i just bought a twin blanket, its great big enough to always be close and easy for him to put back on himself. and when we switch to a twin bed in a few months we can still use it. got this one

Wow. I think you win the award for most daycare room switches ever!

My dd started kinder today!! Drop off was relaxed and amazing. Half day pick Up was... Not.
OMG she's riding the bus tomorrow. Not only because she wants to but also because pick up was such a monumental nightmare that if I have to do it again, I might get arrested! Lmao Pick up was seriously rage inducing. DS got so upset that I got out of the car ( MH was driving) to get DD that he cried and vomited on himself. Mh stopped to make sure he wasn't choking bad blocked traffic. It was insanity. I'm so sad, because we had to come home for lunch instead of going to get a cone at mcD's DD had a good day ( which is awesome) but I still feel like a first day of school failure. :,(

I'm home with DS today because he has his first ear infection. DH stayed home with him yesterday and actually got some stuff done around the house. I haven't done shit so far... I feel like such a slacker. Mainly because I don't have the energy to spend 45 minutes trying to force naps. So he's napping on me after feedings. I will definitely regret this later because he's not napping well in general so this will probably make it harder to get him down! But I can't just let him cry when I know he doesn't feel right. Also really hoping the fever stops so he can go to daycare tomorrow!
I went to the brand new OUAC near me today and bought a couple of $7 fleece outerwear one pieces just in case we have a cold winter with snow again. I'm willing to take a $14 hit if I'm wrong.
I also found a HA sleeper in a current print. Yessssss.
3:30 CST. H can't come. We haven't decided whether I'll just text him and we'll post it right away or if I'll get it put in an envelope so we can open it together later. I don't think he really cares but I feel like I should try to make this special somehow. With C we got the u/s done and went to dinner and shopping to celebrate. Poor 2nd kid gets the shaft.
Wow!! I thought DD was up there with her 5th room change this month. Will he stay in a room for a longer period of time at some point?
I hope so! It's supposed to slow down around 2.5yr (his current age) because they are in preschool classes now. At the preschool level transitions happen in June & September as the older kids leave for kindergarten. (some kids leave at the beginning of summer, some at the end)
At his last move (in June) they said that he would be in this class for the school year...they just said it again about this next room. He moved last September to room #6, he stayed in that room for 9 months so I do believe he'll be in this new room for a significant period of time.

You find out at the scan, go out and get something fun - pink or blue cookies/cupcake/etc or like a "boy" craft beer (there has to be some label that has a boy on it or boy in the name) and then surprise him when he gets home?
I am so irritated at the moms in my MOMS club. I'm coordinating playgroups and so many people have "over committed" and are backing out weeks after signing up, so I'm having to redo the groups. No, there isn't a group with members in only one certain small town that our group covers with a playgroup at 2:15 every 3rd Thrusday with only 2 yr old boys. I'm so done. There are 50 moms, only a handful of which want to be in a playgroup, there's not going to be a group available at everyone's preferred time. And don't you dare ask who is on each roster so that you can decide against people who aren't your favorite, because that is not how this works. HULK SMASH.
DD was in a mood at daycare drop off yesterday. H said she gave him such sadface that it scarred him all day. He snuggled her so hard when we got home, lol/melt. She was acting much more herself this morning, thankfully.
My friend just had a baby and I want to bring her something, so I asked if they had dietary restrictions. No gluten, nuts, onion or garlic I'm making some carrot soup with basil yogurt to mix in, and probably that Smitten Kitchen cake with peaches instead of strawberries. It's just her H that doesn't do gluten, so she can have that all for herself
It's hard to cook for allergy suffers sometimes! We're friends with a couple who are no gluten, dairy, red meat, or spicy. It's super hard! I often resort to bland chili, which DH makes a blech face for b/c he likes it spicy. I don't have a lot of options here!

I plan on buying this toddler bed blanket-sheet-pillowcase set when we convert DS's crib to a toddler bed.
Ashley&Scott, no he hasn't been tested for sleep apnea, but I'm about to insist he needs to. He and I both know drinking exacerbates the snoring, and he's been so stressed lately I hate to take his scotch away from him. So I'm waiting (and complaining ) for now.
At what point should I be worried enough to call my OB about my never ending cycle? Tomorrow will be CD40, negative HPT, slight cramping. IDK what they can do, but I am annoyed. I haven't had any major health changes the past month, and I've always been 29 or 30 days (except when BFing).
Is it too mean to sleep train (again) when N is cutting his molars? Because I can't take much more of these MOTN screamfests. He wants to come sleep in our bed and gets pissed when we won't bring him in there. We won't bring him in there because he doesn't sleep well in our bed.
I'm no expert, but since my kid is finally sleeping better at night and I just got my period, I am wondering if there is a correlation between the MOTN wakings and your long cycle? Good luck getting the outcome you want!

Like DH said, it feels like Christmas was cancelled at our house. Wait, we don't have a house. We have a hotel room.
We were supposed to close on our house tomorrow, but it failed the city's inspection yesterday. For things we were told were fixed. For stupid little things that would have taken them 2 minutes to fix. For not having a fucking PERMIT TO ADD A BATHROOM! Yes, that's right. They added a bathroom without a permit. They "didn't know" they needed one. So now we have to wait 7-10 more days for them to retroactively get a permit and have the house reassessed. And as an added bonus, our property taxes will be higher than expected. Oh, and we get to spend $120 everyday to keep staying in this tiny room and to board our cat.
