I mentioned in the randoms thread that M is going to start transitioning again soon. This will be his 8th classroom in just under 2.5 years. I have always known that my center transitions more often than most but I want to compare.
How old is your child? How long has your child been in daycare? How many classrooms have they been in?
How old is your child? - 2 years 2 months. How long has your child been in daycare? - Since 3 months. Moved to this daycare at 7 months. How many classrooms have they been in? 4 rooms, and in the process of transitioning to the 5th. DD will be in this room until about 3.
How long has your child been in daycare? Each since 3 months old
How many classrooms have they been in? DD just started in her 4th classroom (3 mo -15 mo, 15 mo - 2y, 2y -3y, 3y-4y). DS is moving into his 2nd class at 14 mos.
They are in different centers, but both centers seem to follow the same layout.

DS has been in daycare since right after he turned 2, so almost 1.5 years. He has been in 2 rooms, Junior Preschool and now Preschool. Our center usually moves kids around at the start of the school year.
She will be 2 next month and started at 15 months. She has been in 3 rooms so far - infant 2 until 18 mo, young toddlers through last Friday, and started in toddler 1 yesterday. I think the next transition is somewhere around age 3.
He has been in daycare since he was 2.5, so 1 year, 2 months. He was in the older 2's room for 2 months, the three year old room for 1 year, and he just moved to the 4 year old room. They basically move them once a year.

she's 5 now and just started kinder
she's been in daycare since she was 7 wks old. not a single class change as she was in an in-home situation that was capped at 8 kids (2 babies under 2, 6 kids over 2 max).

DS is 3 and has been in daycare since 12 weeks.
Infant room till 15 months Toddler room 15 months till 2 Preschool room at 2 Moved to a new "homeroom" for the summer (when he was 2)which became his new homeroom, and still is at 3 This summer all kids temporarily had new "homerooms" for 8 weeks to factor the low enrollment. All back to normal now that school is back in session.
She'll be moving to her 5th room next week, but we moved and changed daycares (well, technically her 6th if you count the 2 weeks at the center we didn't like after we moved)
My DD is 3 and in her sixth classroom. She's been in daycare since 12 weeks old.
I will say that we started at a different daycare where they did one room per year. Our current daycare sounds more like yours; there are three infant classes divided by age and three toddler classes (ditto).
Our last daycare had three infant classes but they weren't assigned by age so you'd have 12 week olds mixed in with 11 month olds. In this daycare, you don't have more than a three-month age range between the kids in any given class until the older years. Pros and cons to both.

Question for you guys:
Do they move rooms with their caregivers and friends, or do they move on their own and have new caregivers and friends?
I worked in a daycare one summer during college and the kids stayed in the same group of 6 kids, with the same 2 caregivers, from 12 weeks until age 3. I'm not sure how common that is.

Our daycare is structured with these rooms:
6-18 months infant room (I'm in Canada so there isn't much demand for care <6mo) 18-24 months junior toddlers 24 - 36 months senior toddler 2.5 - 3.5/4.5 years old for the pre-school room, until the kid goes to school. It's a calendar year cut off in my province so in September all the kids born that year go to kindergarten. Some are 3.75, some are 4.5.
Do they move rooms with their caregivers and friends, or do they move on their own and have new caregivers and friends?

M has been with the same group of friends for the most part. (There are typically 2 rooms for every age group after the infant room so sometimes the kids get split up depending on when they move)
How old is your child? 2.5 How long has your child been in daycare? Since he was 4mo How many classrooms have they been in? We moved him at ~20 mo, but his current center, and where kid #2 will go, does (1) Infant, (2) mobile/older infant, (3) Toddler, (4) 2-year olds, (3) 3 year olds, (4) 4 year olds.
The first three rooms, the population is a little squishy. They do it all within the licensing, but those kids may be in either 1 or 3 at the beginning and end of the day, and spend the middle part with their peers in #2. This probably doesn't make sense.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
B is 15 months old. Started day care at 4.5 months so almost 11 months there. He is in his second room. He switched after his first birthday and will switch again at 18 months. I don't really know how long he'll be in the next room.

Caregivers stay in the same room and the kids get new ones with each age.
They usually move all May-October birthday kids as a group in August. November-April birthdays move up around their birthday when a space becomes available.

DD turns three this month and has been in daycare since 4 months.
Infant room until 1 year Transitioned to the small side of the toddler room (only 1 group of kids). Large side of the toddler room ( 2 groups of kids) Moved to the two year old room at two. She just transitioned to the three year old room.
So 4 transitions with including the two toddler classes as different groups.

M is 14 months He started daycare at 3 months and is still in the same room he started in. I think he will be transitioning soon, as soon as the school year starts back up, and they fill up.
