Night one of Ferber. DS goes down on his own, but he wakes up all the time. Tonight he has to go at least three hours. DH is in charge of consolation until it's time to eat. I'm nervous. Naps were better today, so hopefully that's a good sign. I got a 1.5 hour nap so I'm doing better.

DD is 4.5 months. Her forehead felt hot tonight so we took her temperature under her arm. It was 100.6. We gave her a dose of Tylenol. Should we call the doctor? This is new to me and I'm not sure what to do. Thanks!

Holy crap, @this. I feel like that's completely unheard of these days. Lucky duck, you!
@starry, hugs. I hope your stomach issues are better soon.
I put a new stuffed animal in DS's crib tonight because he doesn't care about the lamb that is in there. He freaked out. Screamed and held it up over the crib until I came and got it and rocked him back to drowsy. I think he's beginning toddlerhood too because he gets.so.mad about such silly things!
I think DS is giving us clear signs that he's ready for the crib. At least this got us off our asses to order his baby monitor. We ended up choosing the Motorola with an assist from the Snuza.
I'm really looking forward to my therapy session tomorrow morning. Every now and then I feel like I have everything totally figured out. This usually means I'll be having a nervous breakdown in a week or two. Stay tuned!
A storm knocked down a good sized branch in our backyard and knocked down a power line. Wheee! We somehow still have power but the back of the neighborhood does not, and our cable is out. And we can't let the dog into the backyard, so annoying.
This is the second time this happened this summer, so we're hoping the power company will take the tree down for us!
Well I just gave her Advil. I have been trying to get her to sleep for 2 hours now w no luck. I'm sure this is dumb but I'm a little freaked out bc we've never given her any kind of medication before.
The girls were little monsters lady night- they got up for no apparent reason at 1 am and we were awake for an hour. I tried giving them milk, but the swatted their cups away.
They just wanted to sit on my lap and read stories... I hope we don't get a repeat tonight. They both have colds and are getting molars, so I feel bad letting them cry.
I'm getting stuff ready for my group rummage sale in September and omg do I buy too much stuff. I have 12 boxes. This will be my 3rd time participating in the sale. My girls are 18 months #mmfail
DH has such warped ideas of what a priority is around here and I'm too busy and overwhelmed to sugar coat a thing right now.
Case in point, one of the two sinks in our master bedroom was draining a bit slow. So he took it apart and drug everything out from under the sink and just left it there to make sure there isn't a leak after putting it back together. Because you know, my kids will totally just leave all of that alone tomorrow.
Gah. There are two fucking sinks, plus another down the hall! It wasn't even clogged, just slow! And FFS were going out of town in two days and are jam packed between now and then, fold some laundry or something. There are a million OTHER more pressing things to do.
He just slammed it all back under the sink when he prodded me to tell him why I'm irritated. Sorrynotsorry.
DD is going to do a headstand before she learns to sit. My mom just showed me all the videos she took of DD today trying to push her legs and back all the way up the side of my desk. She's also learned to catapult her legs off a hard surface and "back stroke" her way across the room.
I have to write a letter of recommendation and am draaaaagging. Now I feel bad that I made so many teachers and mentors write all these damn letters of rec over the years. These things suck!
Wakeup one. He waited 2 hours and 55 minutes. Seriously kid? I let him fuss for a few minutes and DH hardly stirred. That might be the worst part. Question, for his next stretch, do I go from time he started or finished eating? He's a slow eater.
Just as I snuggled into bed my god damn cat jumped up and proceeded to puke on the blankets and it soaked through every layer into the mattress before I could roll out of my pillow fortress and move the blankets. CATS ARE ASSHOLES! So while dh starts laundry, here I sit having bleached the mattress pointing my hair dryer at the spot so it will dry and we can put sheets on it. At least she had the decency to vomit on dh's side of the bed rather than directly on me...
OMG, CATS ARE ASSHOLES. One of ours keeps pooping on the floor right next to the litter box. Like, two inches away. Get with the program, jerk cat.
(He isn't sick, he's just always had litter box issues. 9 years of litter box issues. Lord help me.)
This is my cat too. I'm SO over it but don't know what else to do.
I hate tonight. We have been trying to put DD to bed for 90 minutes. She's screaming and only settles if we hold her but then won't go to sleep if we hold her.

I'll be up late tonight but for once this week it won't be because DD is resisting bedtime - I have a work project that I just need to push through and finish, so I'm staying up until it's done. This feels like writing a late-night college paper.
We've had a week of really great nights. Not quite STTN, but one quick wake up which is doable. Tonight? He's been up for an hour already.
I think it might be ears and if it is (again) I'm going to cry. It took a month and 4 different antibiotics to clear up the last EI. It's only been maybe 10 days that they've been better. Ugghh. I don't even want to go to the pedi to find out.
My kid "found" his arms and hands yesterday and now he's using my boob as a punching bag. He didn't go down for the night until past 10, we are on wake up 1 now, and we have contractors showing up at 5:30. Ughhhhh.
I can't get DD (8 weeks) back down tonight. Ugh. She's also gone from 1-2 MOTN wakings
DS (28 months) is really needy right now in general. I feel bad for him cause his sister requires a lot during the day and he's left to play by himself a lot and he's not happy about it.
So DS went almost three hours, then six hours! I didn't go back to sleep after the 5:15 feeding, so I got to read for a little while. I'm about to go wake him, which seems backwards, but Ferber said so. I think my warning at 11 encouraged him to sleep longer, he did cry out at one point but didn't get up. Hopefully tonight is even better! Thank you everyone for your support, I couldn't have done it without you!
