I'm not packing butter in my suitcase, but really? Have you never used a butter dish? I have been eating unrefrigerated butter for 31 years and am none the worse for wear. Cold butter doesn't spread on bread!
I keep my butter in the fridge, and I don't know anyone who doesn't keep it in the fridge. I will soften a bit in the microwave if having toast or something and want butter. We rarely use butter for anything other than cooking though, and it works fine from the fridge.
I'm ok with salted butter being out for dinner, but I would be uneasy leaving it out for more than a few hours. A cat would probably eat it anyway if left unsupervised lol

There is no greater travesty than having all the ingredients ready for grilled cheese, only to discover all the butter is refrigerated and the butter dish is empty!
But, butter girl is one of my best friends ever and while she's going to stay at a condo at a resort in the Bahamas, I'm staying on an air mattress in my parents' house. Someone got the better financial sense in this friendship and it ain't snips. LOL. :-p
Lol at "it will go to waste." People leave food behind in our cabin all the time. The cleaning lady brings it home and eats it.
This was covered on MM, too. HOW DO YOU KNOW THE PREVIOUS RENTERS DIDN'T POISON THE LEFTOVER FOOD??? it's amazing your cleaning lady is alive. She's quite a risktaker.

This is when I learned that mayo works just as well, if not better.

I buy magical butter that when applied to heat, dissolves and makes whatever else that joins the heat festivities crisp and gold.
Translation: Butter melts and crisps bread in the pan.
Lol! I use sour cream and jam. Adding butter wouldn't make sense.
Weirdo!!!!
And the only thing that goes on pancakes is maple syrup.
People, you are doing it wrong! The best thing to put on pancakes is Nutella (and then some fruit if you really want to make it healthy). Nutella would travel well in a suitcase.

She eats it from ALL the homes she cleans. And that's a lot of houses. I bet she has a grocery bill of $0. Just think of what her portfolio must look like.
Fuck it. I'm not going to lie. I even eat stuff people leave behind. Not from the refrigerator, because our cleaning lady takes those, but I have certainly mixed myself some hot coco with left over packets. Living on the edge man.
If OP was really MM she would go bang on doors of people departing the condos to ask if they have left over butter.
Why make pancakes when you can have sweet rolls? They're the first thing we pick up when we visit our Bahamian family. Yum! Kerry gold is actually cheaper there than here and delicious on their bread (it's almost like Hawaiian sweet rolls).
We do bring them tons of meat, though. That's what they find the most cost prohibitive, although they're on the out islands, not Nassau.
Damn. Now I miss peas and rice and cracked conch. I'd rather have that for breakfast
