I was in 'false labour' yesterday. I had contractions from early hours of the morning until almost 10pm last night. And the pressure when I went to pee was terrible. My mom and DH were both convinced that I was in labour, but it just never seemed right to me so I never called anyone. But by last night I was really sore and completely exhausted. I tried going to sleep all my usual ways, but the pain on my hips and pelvis was too much so I took 2 pain killers. They worked so well. I only woke up 3 times to pee, otherwise I had a dead sleep. It was literally the best sleep I have had in months.
Oh, and my other random... My toes have swollen. It looks so funny, but that is because I have never really suffered with any swelling before.

Still pregnant over here. Now at 40+4. SIL has a nursing school teacher who also does "readings" I guess and she said today is the day (said it over a month ago). Not feeling like anything will happen today, but I'll take anything at this point.
I think we are having FI's family over for dinner tonight. So hoping that spending the day cleaning and cooking will distract me.
2 days in a row my 3yo has been up at 5:30am tapping me in the face bc he peed the bed. I guess it's good practice and all being up at that hour but after a night of tossing and turning it seems my deepest sleep is early AM.
MIL just texted H and I asking if we'd like to come over for dinner tonight. She got a new camera and wants to "practice" by taking some maternity style photos of us before the baby is here. I was just feeling sad that H and I don't have any nice pictures of just us since I've been pregnant, so I'm excited about this.
Today is my work "surprise" shower. They don't know that I know and I'm super excited. It was really hard to not registry stalk though!
I had a Dr appt yesterday and it was just a quick check - weight, pee, bp, and Doppler. I've never had the Doppler so that was cool and it was nice being in and out in 15 minutes. My Dr said pretty soon we'll start talking about labor I have an appt in 2 weeks and going to ask for sure when he will so that I can make sure H is with me and hears everything.
I need to also get better about my eating. I gained 4 lbs in 2 weeks. I also can tell my stomach has been stretching soooo much the last 2 days. My skin hurts.
The maternity clothes I ordered came in. I am unimpressed by most of it. Some of it seems to fit quite a bit smaller than the same size in regular clothes? I am irritated about that.
There are just not that many places that sell plus size maternity clothes, so I may be wearing the same outfit everyday for months. Sigh.

I was just looking online at stuff and being underwhelmed. Gap has like 5 styles of black pants.
Yeah, take the regular maternity section, then take 20% of that. That's the plus size section.

My H just dropped of flowers and a super sweet card, and my boss also picked flowers from her garden for me. I am feeling loved today, despite feeling HUGE and ready to pop!

I hear ya. I'm right on the regular/plus edge, so I cross my fingers that the 16s or 18s run big.
I think Gap does, but ON bottoms do not. ON tops are fine.
I have a mix of bottoms in 18s from Loft, 18s from Gap and 1x from Kohls/Motherhood. I wore dresses mostly though. I'm actually wearing a pre-pg dress right now, at 39w exactly.

I found the same thing re: the sizing, ESPECIALLY with things from JCP. Like I am an XL or 1x on top most places, and ordered 1x and 2x from JCP... The 2xs were like sausage casing.
**TMI alert** I'm majorly constipated and not feeling well at all. The consistency is not the problem, it's the lack of frequency, so I'm not sure if stool softeners will help me. I'm already pretty good w/ eating lots of fiber, walking, and water. Is there anything else I can do? Per Google, I shouldn't be taking stimulant laxatives.
Maternity clothes - I just ordered this and these and my hopes are totally up that they'll be cute.
Miralax. My Dr recommended it and said it's safe to take daily. It takes a couple days to kick in so I usually take it for 3-4 days and then stop once I start going. I have to do it like every other week. I should just take it daily but I forget. I was trying Collace but it did nothing. And it's a powder so I mix it with juice and don't taste it at all.
I am having such a hard time getting up in the morning. I've barely been hearing my alarms and then I have to kind of rush to get ready.
I actually made dinner last night and decided I don't like cooking, lol. It was just spaghetti, so nothing even complicated, but I just don't really enjoy doing the kitchen thing.
I really want some new maternity clothes but I won't let myself buy anything since we're on a tight budget and I only have 6 weeks to go. But some of the stuff I bought early on is getting too short, and I feel like I'm wearing the same things all the time. At least when the weather cools down I'll have a few more options.
For all the plus-size PPs, I think maternity sizing is a bit small for standard sizes too. I went this weekend myself and definitely sized up in a lot of things. I tried on several items at destination maternity and was floored by the fit on some things too, like how is this maternity?
I don't know if jcrew has the sizes, but their pixie pants are the one thing I've found so far to size down in. They stretch a lot.
As for me, one week to anatomy scan and I'm on vacay the rest of the week! So excited to go to the beach, relax and see our little boonie soon! I just feel so happy about things lately, which is such a nice change after IF.
I am back at the hospital. Blood pressure is back up again. This is my third visit in a week. They might as well just book me a bed for the rest of my pregnancy.
Sorry blushing. Hope things look OK today. I was wondering if I might be starting labor last night b/c I was feeling kind of crampy, but nothing consistent was happening, and I was able to sleep just fine (well, considering). Feeling OK today but maybe having more frequent BH with a touch of cramping. Everyone says I will know it when it happens, so I'm just trying to go on with life as normal.
Add me to the list of frustrated with clothes. Everything is too tight and my belly button has been an outie for a long time but this is getting embarrassing. I also don't want to buy anything new with ~5 weeks left, but I think I might have to.
Plus size maternity - I was a 16 prior to getting preg. I had the worst time finding pants. I had to get a 3X at Jcpennys. If you can find a babies r us that sells Thyme pants I could wear the XXL. Tops I could wear xl from ON & Gap maternity. I also bought some regular tshirts from ON. I was able to wear some of my dresses through the preg. Problem was my boobs exploded so a lot of stuff stopped fitting.
I have 1 week to go and I'm ready! I can't sleep. Some issue every night. Last night my stomach felt heavy & in the way.
Hope everything is ok blushing! Have they talked induction at all?
I'm LOLing at my mom. I told her I was packing my hospital bag and feeling like I was forgetting something. Her advice? Film for the camera and cash to pay for the TV in the hospital room. Apparently she thinks I'm going back in time to give birth in the 80s like she did.
Lol Blue Moon, your mom is funny. When was the last time anyone used film?
I'm sick of being hungry all the time. Can I just make it from breakfast to lunch without wanting to chew my arm off? I have snacks but when I don't it usually means something unhealthy.

I'm off to Vegas in the morning, my first vacation days all year! I'm so excited, i know I'll have to take it easy more than usual and no booze but I will still have fun!

3 of my maternity tops have holes in them, and jeans are worn in the crotch, I am wearing them and just pretending not to notice.
