Monday and Tuesday I had gone #2 a couple times. I noticed yesterday afternoon that it hurt to wipe and was uncomfortable wearing underwear - I had been wearing lace thongs. At first I thought well maybe I just had wiped a lot and was sore. So last night I felt around there and there is a tiny bump that's tender. But, of course I don't know if it's just something normal or if this is new! Today I wore regular underwear and I was fine last night but I just went pee and it felt sore again. I know that constipation can cause them and I had been trying really hard to not force myself to go by pushing. I'm just bummed if this is a hemorrhoid.
I really don't have any idea if this was a hemrhoid, but I had a similar experience to yours recently, so I'll share. I had also been wearing thongs a few days in a row. One day I just felt this slightly burning soreness, and it became uncomfortable to sit and wipe.
I thought I felt a bump but wasn't sure. It felt slightly off to the side. So I got some tucks pads and used those for a couple of days. Both for wiping and just, like, sitting in my butt crack to ease the pain. they really worked and within 24 hours I felt no pain and no bump.
Now I make sure to not wear thongs on back to back days and eat my raisin bran every morning. works like a charm for me, I swear, it's magical! I also try to be better about getting up more frequently when I am at work and taking a 10 min walk at lunch.

Sounds like a 'roid. I was late 2nd tri when mine showed up last pg. Avoid constipation or straining, poop with your feet on a stool or thick book, wipe with flushable tucks wipes, and don't hesitate to call your doc if it gets bad. They have rx creams and suppositories that work ten times better than OTC ones.
I can't believe there aren't more posts in here commiserating. Hemmies are the worst!
This is my biggest complaint right now. But I will say that it just started about 1-2 weeks ago, not as early as you. I did get them with my first pregnancy, also near the end"ish" but IIRC they only bothered me for a week or so, I don't think it was too long. I just used OTC creams and it eventually went away. (Preparation H)
This time feels worse though. **TMI** I can feel them when I apply the cream, and there's like 3 or 4 bumps that are so swollen, I'm afraid they will never go away. I need someone to come tell me this is temporary. I can't live like this!!!!
I'm taking a stool softener, and I'm supposed to be on iron for anemia but I stopped and can't bring myself to take it until my bum feels better.

Way TMI, but I have had these off and on since before getting regnant. The worst! I have a donut pillow that I sit on at work, among the other options people have mentioned.
I've had them way before giving birth, but ever since pushing DS out for 4.5 hours, I can no longer wear thongs either. Can't wait to see what kind of damage #2 leaves me with ;-). But yes, they are tender, it's obvious that something is sticking out in my case, and sometimes it hurts to sit for long periods of time.
The thing that stuck with me the most from the infamous 'nastyness of being pg' thread was the description of coke can size poop. Shudder.
I have been eating like absolute crap this week and I am paying for it on the other end. I was freaking out last night and this morning about straining, both b/c of hemmies and a fear that I'd somehow cause a rupture of baby's amniotic sac (is this possible???). I am happy to report that things just finally got moving, and now I'm pledging to buy some miralax ASAP and eat Raisin Bran every morning for the rest of my pregnancy. Yikes.
Yours sound mild, so far. I'd suggest that you use some Preparation H, make sure you're not straining to poop (Colace is by BFF), and avoid wearing thongs while they're there (this is just my own opinion, I have no idea if it's medically necessary).
I'd never had hemorrhoids before in my life, until a particularly bad pooping situation mid-pregnancy. They never went away after that. I talked with the OB about it, and she was like "Yeah, yeah, totally normal." And then she did the Strep B swab a couple of weeks ago, and was like "OH, oh, wow. You do have some angry-looking hemorrhoids. Wow. Oh. My. Oh..." which has basically turned into: These guys have about a 1% chance of going away on their own. My solution is likely going to be butt hole surgery.
So, PLEASE guys, eat lots of fiber. Take Colace, or miralax, or a combination of every fiber option. You don't want to have butt hole surgery.
I've had them before pregnancy, but I had them removed by a proctologist. Removal was super easy and I seriously had zero recovery time. They were internal and he removed them by applying tiny rubber-bands around them. Couldn't feel a thing.
Now, I just had a couple external hemmies pop up earlier this week. I was super sore for one day and night, but after using some tucks pads and not straining AT ALL when using the restroom I haven't had any issues since. However, I will be visiting a proctologist again after delivery. I'm not too proud to have my anus examined if it means having them removed, lol.

I had something bleed on me one day... I've had fissures before - but the amount of blood was more than with previous ones so I bet anything it was a hemi.
Probably TMI - but one day I had some itching in that region so I broke out the old hand mirror and took a peek... NEVER doing that again was the first thing I thought... the second was that I noticed something purple in that region... yep my good friend the hemi. Shortly after that came the bleeding incident mentioned.
Now, I haven't LOOKED again (won't for the foreseeable future), but I did add more water & fiber and I haven't had the problem again (either the itching or the bleeding).
I had them at the end of pregency last time. So far it has not been a issue. Last time the doctor did prescribe something stronger. I also used the witch hazel tuck pads.

My best friend got them after having her kids and suggests toothpaste be applied to the hemmie to help ease the pain and help shrink it. She said she knows it sounds crazy but I tried it and it totally worked. And faster than any OTC meds.

And your bum will smell minty fresh!
I know you can put white toothpaste on a zit and it shrinks it. I wonder if is the same with hemis.
I almost made it through 2 whole pregnancies and 1 14 week pregnancy without getting any. And then last week happened. I noticed a lump when I wiped. It feels like a grape about the size of my little finger nail. I assume it's a hemmie. But it's not sore or itchy or anything. Does that sound right?
