*comes out of the closet*
yeah, I don't drink that much, just never have really so I pretty much have no basic knowledge of mixed drinks (or wine... or beer... so sue me, lol). H and I have Tequila, Rum and Whiskey leftover from helping throw a big party and I don't know what to do with it... I'm hosting another party with friends this weekend and want to try to use it. Is there some kind of basic mixer or two I can buy/make that will work with any/all of these?

Ditto PP. Can you give more details on the booze? Light/dark tequila, light/dark rum, what kind of quality of whiskey?
Whiskey and coke is a good basic. But kinda sweet for my taste, and I prefer Seven & Seven ( cocktails.about.com/od/whiskeyrecipes/r/seven_seven.htm ) If it's super fancy whiskey, you can drink it neat (no ice/water/mixer) or on ice.

Ok, the Whiskey is 7 Crown (thanks madDawg228 for that recipe because that jogged my memory, lol)
The rum is clear (omg embarrassing, lol) so... white rum?
No idea about the quality of the Tequila (this is leftover from a hosted event that gave us all the leftovers, so a bartender purchased this if that helps at all), probably nothing fancy

Since I don't like my drinks too sweet, for a good mixer for all three types of alcohol, I will say go with 7Up or Ginger Ale. I know it sounds weird with the Tequila, but I've had it before (with cheap tequila, cause I hate it straight). Here's a mixed drink recipe that is kinda shot-like (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tequila_Slammer). This would be a fancy version with the light rum: www.yummly.com/recipe/external/Ginger-Mojito-601117
If you wanted to bring something else to mix, I would bring Coke for the whiskey and light rum.

I totally forgot about using Coke, we have a ton of that leftover too! So I'll definitely bring that.
