I've never been to a Denny's. Is it worth trying out? The IHOP in our neighborhood just closed so if Denny's is good, I can see it filling the pancake-sized hole in my husband's heart.
(Note: I have only been to IHOP once, but I was not a fan)
Denny's is meh. I did go once early in my pregnancy because I was craving pancakes but the thought of making them myself made me want to hurl. It was when the new Hobbit movie was out and they had pumpkin pancakes. I love anything pumpkin.
I don't think Denny's is anything special. Here it is middle of the night just left the bar food.
H and I went to a Denny's on our honeymoon because we were straight up broke. We were in Niagara Falls and figured we could afford Denny's. It ended up being almost $60 and we died, it is super cheap in MI.

It's insane how expensive the chain restaurants are in New York.
The one time we went to Red Lobster we spent $200 and wanted to die, considering how many other places there are where you can get much, much better food for less.

We went to the Perkins in Niagara Falls & thought the same thing!
We used to hang out at Denny's in high school. It is is nothing to get excited about.

Olive Garden is like that too. Every item is like $5 more than it would be if I swam across the river to an Olive Garden in NJ. And our OGs are more expensive than a lot of really good Italian restaurants.
But hey, sometimes you have to get your soup, salad, and breadstick fix.
I had a client insist on meeting at Denny's for lunch a few months ago (in Dallas, so it's not like there weren't plenty of other, non-disgusting options). It was the first time I had been to one in years. I have no intention of going back unless another client is willing to pay me $$$ to suffer through it.

I'm not against a Denny's meal once every couple of years or so If I'm hungover, stuck somewhere late and it's the only place open, etc… But, I'm not a fan of this location's 'faux localization'. If you're gonna be a Denny's, just BE a Denny's. The same goes for any other chain trying to dress up to fit in somewhere.

I don't mind Denny's pancakes. Breakfast is their best meal. My BFF waited tables there in high school so I have find memories of showing up drunk and high and having pancakes and sausage.

Denny's is excellent when you are 18 years old, drunk from the 40 you drank in the park with your friends and have a hankering from some mozarella sticks. Otherwise . . .
