I remember someone saying that Target has a limit on how much you can return without a receipt right?
So if I get an item at a shower and they don't give me a receipt, would it be best to add the item to my registry and then return it that way as if I got double of the item? I don't mind in store credit.
Normally, in the US target has a $75/year limit on items without receipts.
With a registry, I believe you're allowed up to $250, but I'm not sure on the amount. I would just add the item to my registry, mark it as recieved, and return that way as to not meet the $75.
Target sucks! Even if you add it to your registry & mark it as bought they wouldn't take it back for me. They said the person didn't have my registry scanned & the item scanned at the same time.
I was able to add lots of things to babies r us, mark it as received & then return it. They didn't give me any hassle.
I've heard that if your item (or total returns for the year) are over $75, they may still give you credit to be used in that same department only - baby item for baby item. Haven't tried it though.
I've had better luck bringing my husband in to use his ID for returns, and/or just returning to BuyBuyBaby or BRus, if either store carried those items instead.

I had an easy time returning items to Target. I logged into my registry and added the item to my registry. I then marked it as purchased. I received over $180 in store credit. The employee doing my return was also a manager and she didn't question anything.

This item wasn't sold at BRU. I added it to my target registry and marked it as bought and went in and I got store credit! So worked this time but I will for sure use BRU if I can.

My Target sucks then! Lol. I argued with a girl one day about an item & she finally returned it. I'm glad they returned your stuff.
