I grew up on a cul de sac and there were a bunch of kids...we were always outside playing! Softball, kickball, longball, riding bikes, manhunt, playing cards, going to the pool. It was so much fun!
My family visited baseball stadiums for vacation and I have a lot of great memories of those road trips. I can see DH & I doing something similar with our future kids.
Business trip traveling with dad Building forts outside Christmas traditions Movie nights with my siblings (which we still do) Waterfights Traveling to Disney and PEI Random dinners out with dad There are a ton of awesome memories, being a child was lovely <3

We also lived on a cul de sac, so lots of outside play. Our favorite was a game my brothers called Army Dodge Ball where whatever limb got hit with the ball you couldn't use anymore. I was the youngest (by far), so my brothers would end up having to carry me to safety when I lost my legs two seconds into the game. We were latch key kids, so I also followed them into lots of fun mischief.
Dad would always bring me a rose (and mom a dozen) on Valentine's day.
When I'd visit my dad's nursery on a day off school, I'd get to bring my beagle, eat Doritos for lunch, and drive a golf cart around. I thought that was the life!
Cooking with my mom. Teaching my sister how to read. Reading with my mom. Boating with the ILs. One Sunday my mom was sick, dad was at a conference, and my brother was a baby, so my sister and I were pretty much on our own. We watched The Parent Trap with Lindsey Lohan 3 times in a row.
Going to the beach for the first time! Oh how cool I felt in my purple-flowered swimming suit and giant yellow sunglasses! Riding my bike all over the neighborhood The day we brought our puppy home Starting violin lessons in elementary school When my parents gave us a Super Nintendo for Christmas when I was 5. What a fun winter that was! Reading the Little House on the Prairie books Going to the mall with my sister alone, just the two of us, and feeling so grown up
Warm sunny days, playing outside up in the mountains, making forts with our neighbors out of branches, eating wild blackberries, the smell of fresh cut grass....no care in the world.
