For those that bathe two little ones together, especially if one of them is a baby. Logistically, how do you do this? When DS1 was a baby, I just had his tub in there. We have a fairly small bathtub, and the baby tub and my toddler would not both fit in there at the same time.
It would make my life so much easier if I could start doing them together over the next couple of months. From my youth I remember these things:
But I cannot find them anywhere besides Amazon, which makes me think maybe they are not as great as I remember.
Anyone do something magical that will make my evenings easier?
now that she is sitting up, we use something very similar to the picture you have and it helps out a ton! she is almost 9 mos and I still use it. I actually like the one you have better because the "posts" are thinner than the ones on mine.
I see your younger one is only about five or six months old... I don't think I'd do it yet. Mine are about 3.5 and almost 1 and it's only been recently that I've had them take a "sister bath," and it still makes me a little nervous. When I do it, I keep the water level low, at least one hand on the baby the whole time (she gets a very short bath) and if possible I try to hand her off to my husband. If I'm on my own, I try to get everything ready ahead of time (washcloth/conditioner/towels/diaper/pajamas).

I used this as well. I am not a fan of giving baths, so I've always tried to get the kids all in at once. I just made sure to keep a hand on the youngest. Now I do assembly line showers, just to get it over quick. By a year they can easily sit in there together by themselves, so I wouldn't spend more than 20 on a contraption.
Yes. I barely wanted to spend the money on the infant bathtub, but I broke down. I will look at the seat above. I don't plan on doing them together for at least another month or so when DS2 is a little more stable, but I am not a bathtime person.

We never tried before DD could sit. It is so nice to do it at the same time. It frees one of us up to do something else, like dishes, and the kids have fun playing together. Now DS is 4, and about half the time he opts for a shower. He takes it himself, but it still involves a lot of supervision, so it's as time consuming as two baths.
I just throw them both in. When DD wasn't sitting, I just put in a couple inches of water an lay her down. Wash her off, remove baby, add a bit more water for DS to play in if he wants. We never got the inflatable tub and barely used the baby tub.
I used either a hammock/seat thing for the baby or just plain nothing and kept a very close eye on her.
Can I threadjack a bit? At what age do I have to stop bathing a boy and a girl together? *crosses fingers that bathing my 3yo boy and 1.5yo girl is not inappropriate yet*

I stopped when DD1 was 7 (DS is just about 2 years younger) They still see each other naked sometimes, but they are more conscious about their bodies. I've just followed their lead on these things. I will put DS (6) and DD2 (2) in the tub or shower together, so I think the age gap matters a little here too.

I used this in the tub and shower. It is about 1/2 that price at Target. I put it in the bottom of the tub with the baby. It helped them sit up and I could use less water than in the main part of the tub. Before they could sit with support, I used the summer infant sling. Once the can roll or sit, that thing isn't very good though, and the dish tub worked much better.

Word. I did this from newborn on. DD is 3 so she's been handling herself in the tub just fine for a long time. I put like two inches of water in, Let DD play while the baby splashes a bit, soap him up, take him out, dry him off. Fill the tub for DD, let her play while I get the baby dressed. Then I leave him on the bathroom rug and finish scrubbing DD.
Now that's he's 6 months he sits up on the frog sticky mat and plays with big sister. I keep a hand on him obviously so he doesn't tip over.
He's out in less than 4 minutes anyways..so it's not a huge deal.
I think bath seats like the one in the OP have been recalled, which is why no one sells them anymore. I waited until DS2 could sit very well, and I make sure to use a nonslip mat in the tub.

DD2 in the summer infant bath seat in the tub while DD1 sat next to her until she could sit up super steady(birth to 6.5 months) and now they just both sit in the tub together.
I have bathed my 2 together since DD was old enough for a bath. I had a garden tub in my old house that made it much easier. It was much easier when DD could sit up on her own.

DD1 wanted to start bathing by herself at around 7. Sometimes she will take a bath with DD2 or DD3. DS and DD2 almost always take bathes together (5 and 6). They play well together and have names and personalities for all their duckies. I will probably stop it in a year or two. Combining baths and showers is so much faster!
I have used a laundry basket in the tub before to help support a wobbly baby. I have also put the baby bathtub in our larger shower, off to the side so she didn't get rained on while the others were in the shower. My 7yo did and 4yo ds still bathe together. When dd doesn't want to, then they will stop. For now it's just easier. Actually all 3 shower together usually. There was a period of time when ds had to wear underwear in the shower to keep dd2 from grabbing his bits but she is less grabby these days.

Basically this. I dipped the baby at first during DS1s bath, then about 5 months when DS2 was sitting on his own we just went for it. DH is *right there* kneeling over the tub so when he goes under daddy just fishes him out... :/ MOTY here
I've waited until the baby can sit up. Now, with three, I put DS (1) in with just a little water, and DD2 (4) likes to get in there with him. I wash him and get him out, then fill it with more water for DD2 and have DD1 get in too. Really DD1 (6) is old enough to shower but would still need to be supervised so I think it's easier just do all three together.
I bathed them separately until the little one could sit up reliably, without a hand on him. So maybe 6 mos? I didn't use a bath seat, I just plopped 'em both in there. They still take all baths together at 2 and 4.
I looked for a bath seat like your picture, they are hard to find now. And the ones I did find got horrible reviews that they wouldn't stay stuck to the tub floor, or the inside was slippery for baby, etc. I decided not to risk my money.
DS1 had such a giant head, he tipped over FOREVER. I feel like I had to hold on to him forever. I guess that's why I feel like DS2 is going to need something to keep him propped up. Maybe he'll do better sooner and I can just get him in and out.

I put both DS and DD in the Bumbo for a while in the bathtub as well.
Works great and I'm RIGHT there in case something happens.
We have the summer winds bath seat. We had a larger inflatable one when A was wee but it sucked. When J was new and fragile we swapped them out one after another. By around 3/4 mo they were in together but we've never had more than a few inches of water (CA drought). We only ditched the seat around 10 mo, but I have to watch out cause J will crawl and pull up.
My biggest tip is a no- slip mat. We never had one when it was just A, but I recently gave a bath with both of them and no mat and I nearly had a heart attack. One slippery baby is doable, two is not.
