Does anyone listen to their favorite podcasts on their commute/at work/at home? What are you listening to these days? I'm thinking this might be better to have in the background than just flipping around on spotify.

I second This American Life. Also Death, Sex & Money, Savage Lovecast, and any of the Slate podcasts (but especially Culture Gabfest and Mom & Dad Are Fighting).
Adding to Niq's question - now that I'm not allowed to stream hulu at work (I never watched it, I used it like audio books), is there a free site for audiobooks or a way to listen to podcasts that I don't have to continually search for stuff, it just keeps playing (could be user error - I'm new to the concept of podcasts)
When I used to listen to them a few years ago, I set up my phone to download podcasts when I'm connected to wifi (so at home). In most apps there's a way to set them to play one after the other.

Do you have an iPhone? Download Instacast. It's what I used to subscribe to / download / listen to all my podcasts. Not sure if they make a version for Android too, but I'm sure if they don't, there's something similar out there.
I am goin to have to read how podcasts even work...I didn't realize I have to download anything to listen to them - I've only ever streamed them online...yes, I live under a rock
You don't have to. You can download the podcasts themselves directly from iTunes or whatever and just listen to them through your device's default audio player. I just like Instacast because it does all the work of finding / downloading / deleting for me.
