How comfortable are danskos in general? I'm looking at a few on 6pm.com and they say they get the seal of acceptance from the APMA, but I'd like some real life opinions.
I like them. The soles are hard - so if you're thinking "comfortable" as in soft, they aren't. BUT I've never had sore feet from wearing them. I don't wear them as much as I used to, but I do like them. I have afriend who works trade shows and SWEARS by them for being on your feet all day. Heck - doctors and nurses do too!

I agree that they are pretty comfortable. If you want a bit more cushion, the XP style is still very supportive, but has some cushion and a better non-slip sole.
If I turn around fast, I have a tendency to turn my ankle. It's not just me, because my coworkers have said the same thing.
For as much surface area as they seem to cover on the ground, I have found this to be an odd thing about them. Of any shoe I own, I have stumbled on cracks in the sidewalk in these shoes more than any other.
Thanks! I was hoping no one would say they have sore feet after wearing them all day. I'm not on my feet all day or anything, but I do my fair share of climbing up and down footstools when moving shelves so I need something supportive (I have a tendency to turn my ankle a lot) that won't give me blisters.
I agree with everyone else - my feet are never sore in them, and I have quite a few different pairs of various styles. However, the traditional clog style in particular takes some getting used to so that you don't roll your ankle.

I have Sanitos, which used to make Danskos, when they were made in the US, and are essentially the same. I wear them all the time in the fall and spring, once flip flops are done, and it isn't cold enough for boots. I walk a lot and find them comfortable. I have the traditional leather clog. They have held up well. I think mine are on year 4 or 5.
My only complaint, if you could call it that, is that sometime, because they have thick soles, I will turn my ankle on a bumpy sidewalk, but I am walking miles in them.
Once you break them in, they are super comfortable. I definitely didn't like them for the first month or so. They last seemingly forever (my last pair lasted 5 years). Ditto PPs that I have a tendency to roll my ankle on sidewalk cracks or if I turn quickly while walking fast. I don't mind going up the stairs in them. I have the standard clogs. The non-shiny ones tend to scuff on the toe area and need to be polished. I'm not sure if the shiny ones have the same problem. I've never tried the kind you posted. But, in general, dansko (and sanitas) tends to be a good company.
I would recommend trying them on in a store as the sizing can be a little funky and some of the styles are wider than others. If you do go to a store to try them on, make sure you try a couple of pairs in the same size since they do stretch out over time and you want to make sure the ones you try on haven't already been stretched out.

I work long hours on really hard (sealed concrete) floors, and stand a lot. My back used to be horrible until a co-worker recommended I get danskos. They have helped my back tremendously at work. If I wear sneakers my back hurts within a few hours, when I wear these I can go 11 hour shifts no problem. Only issue is I do sometimes turn my ankle when walking on cobblestones etc.
I love them. I'm boring and have a couple pairs of clogs in black and brown leather, and a few years ago they made these great boots with a decent heel on them that I have in both colors. Like others mentioned, they're hard and not squishy but they make your feet happy. The one issue I have with them is that even when they're broken in, if I don't wear them for awhile and then go for a whole day, the tops of my feet hurt, and my calves are pretty sore. But once that's over and done with, they're all good.
I agree with the ankle issue in clogs (but not a problem in my boots). The clogs are also kind of tall, so even though it sounds weird it's easy to fall off of them.
Danskos are the preferred work shoe of all the healthcare professionals in my family -- my sample size being 3, my brother and his gf, both nurses, and my mom, who was a clinical dietician.
They're very hard. I keep insoles in mine. Comfy otherwise. My back and knees felt great when I was wearing them. I wore mine religiously for 3.5 years. I recently switched back to running shoes because I was turning my ankles constantly, so I felt like I was just asking for a broken ankle.
I thought for sure that someone would admit me to the MM ugly shoe club. I could handle that title though, because my local board has named me queen of ugly shoes.
This is all really good info. I have very weak ankles and don't deal well with sore feet. I have a pair of plain, probably semi cute, life stride heels that have a mary jane like strap across them. The strap was secured with a flimsy piece of elastic and it's impossible to fix. They lasted quite awhile though, so I can't really complain, except for the whole needing new shoes thing.

Just so you are aware. The first couple of weeks they are not comfortable at all. They really need to be broken in. But once I got past the first couple of weeks, they are the most comfortable shoes I own. I wear the Mary Jane style.
Ditto PP's on the tripping. I always feel so dumb when I trip over the sidewalk cracks. Ha

I love mine and I'm in health care too. I just got my second pair after having had my first pair for about 6 years. They finally wore out and my back can tell the difference now that I have new ones. I would never buy them online however. They are handmade and they all fit differently, even if they are the same size. I got them at a store in Maine and they let you mix and match a pair of the same size so I got a great fit. I do agree with the ankle thing. It doesn't happen very often but it does happen. But I'm kind of tippy anyway
