I'm going to go into the store tonight or tomorrow and play around. I might be able to get the S4 for nothing (or almost nothing). I really want an S5 but I don't want to pay for it.
I had an LG once. It was pre-smartphone, but the thing was a piece of crap. It wouldn't turn off. Ever. I am now hesitant to ever have another, although I love the camera commercials for the new one. I haven't read any reviews, though.

I have an LG phone right now and it's a piece of crap! It's barely functional. I'll never get another one again, if I can help it.

Android nerd checking in!
I wouldn't by either of the options listed. I'm going to highly encourage you to look into the Nexus 5. It runs an unmodified version of android which is going to give you more access and more control. It will also be fasted due to the fact that it won't come with any pre added bloat ware tipe stuff.
However, if you have to pick between the two options listed I'll give you my thoughts on both. The G3 is a very big phone I would personally struggle to use that phone especially one handed. The G2 is just really old hardware at this point and I wouldn't reccomend it.
Samsung. You know how earlier I was talking about unmodified android? Well this is opposite land now. Samsung puts a very heavy filter on top of android and it is slow and cumbersome and full of weird shit you don't need. It personally drives me BSC. However, if you are currently happy with the S2 and the OS doesn't bother you then I would get the S5. Use your phone for several years but get the best hardware possible when you do.
