My dad had a Pepperidge Farm Biscuit franchise- I never bought cookies. Ever.
One of DS's friends has a grandfather who owns Chevy and Chrysler dealerships- I don't think any of his own kids ever paid for a new car. His grandkids get late model used at 16.
H's grandfather owned the business before his father. I ways thought it was odd because his siblings had to buy/lease their own car when they graduated from highschool.
My parents bought a car for me from the dealership, which is kind of funny.
I think it's weird that he charges full price for the cars and oil changes.
My dad makes a particular piece of sporting equipment that retails anywhere from $6k to $35k. When I needed one, I got it for free. But when I had kids and wasn't using it as much, I gave it back.
My FIL does computer repair as a side business and he takes care of all our laptops/pcs for free. He doesn't charge my family either. Since Apple is so huge and he doesn't work on Macs, he's expanded his business into iphone/ ipad screen repairs and tomorrow he's fixing my iphone screen for free. Score!
My DH is the GM of a dealership. He gets a tremendous employee discount and shares it with our family and friends. However the old dealership he worked at for 13 years, a large Toyota dealer, didn't give employee discounts at all. Even the owners paid full price for their cars.
My dad does our taxes for free. And my mom works at the local St Vincent store, so she is sure to set aside anything good that comes in for the kids and me. (DH doesn't luck out here too often, men tend to wear things until they fall apart). I think its a huge bonus, so much stuff gets donated with tags still on or in perfect shape.

One of my Uncles has a landscaping business and when he has done work for us he gives us a 25% discount off labor.
Another Uncle is a contractor, he gives us about the same off labor.
My Aunt is our realtor and she only charges us her broker's minimum commission.
In turn, we give our families big discounts on work on their cars. Any close family members only have to pay is for the materials and we normally don't charge them for labor, any extended family gets like 25% off labor.
