I need a make over. I wear very little, very neutral makeup. I'm not going to do anything that takes a long time or is too complicated or dramatic. I hate liquid foundation, but I might be willing to use one if it wasn't too greasy/heavy. I think I need a decent foundation, bronzer, and lip gloss at least.
I have always hated liquid foundation. When I got married I wanted to dot own make up but wanted nice stuff so I went to the bare minerals store and got a make over and loved it. I still wear it everyday. The foundation is super neutral and light. I use that and the blush on the regular and use bronzer when I want to pump it up. I really like pallets for eye shadow bc it's so easy. I like the urban decay pallets. I like smash box for liner and mascara.
I like bare minerals foundation because liquid feels so heavy to me. I like Too Faced eye palettes, tarte Amazonian clay blushes are pretty and blend well. I use They're Real mascara because it doesn't clump, curls my lashes, and doesn't move. Stila lip glosses are okay. I don't love gloss.
I'm obsessed with Clinique Stay-Matte, oil free foundation lately. But I also like Tarte and Makeup Forever. I tried the Kat von D but wasn't a huge fan (these are all liquid). I still rave about the IT Cosmetics CC cream, but I've backed off of it lately, not for a particular reason. Right now I'm setting the Stay Matte with the Mac sheer pressed powder and touch up with Bare Minerals pressed mineral veil. If I were you, I would go to Sephora and tell them what you're looking for - they will match your skin tone and will be able to give you some samples so you can play around and see what you like.
You should consider putting liquid foundation on with a beauty blender. It goes on so easily and helps most foundations feel pretty light...you can layer on if you need more coverage. If you get the beauty blender wet, it puffs up, then you squeeze out a bunch of water. I do a swirl of foundation on the sponge directly and then dot it on both cheeks, my nose, forehead and chin and then pat it around my whole face to blend everything in.
Everyone that I know that I've raved about it to has gotten one and loves it.
For bronzer, I really like the Tarte matte bronzer. Also, Too Faced has some good ones. Urban Decay has the Naked Flushed that has a bronzer, highlighter and blush that is good and offers a few options.
For lip gloss, I use Buxom because I like the plumping effect without it being too crazy. It just feels better to have it on. I also like most of the Mac lip glass lip glosses. I'm not big on vibrant colors on my lips, so these work for me, to find neutral shades.

Ooo. I love They're Real. I just used up the last of a sample.

I'm a drugstore makeup kind of girl.
I actually use a tinted moisturizer (Aveeno), then a powder over that just to cut down on shine. Earlier in my pregnancy it was Bare Minerals, which is my one makeup splurge. During the third trimester when I got lazy, it was just a Revlon pressed powder.
I like Revlon ColorStay eyeshadow palettes, CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion mascara, and Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain. I also use a pencil to fill in my eyebrows; it used to be the Maybelline, but I've since fallen in love with the Sonia Kashuk pencils from Target - better texture and color for my skin tone.
I went to Saphora and said, "Can you help me?" The lady was very helpful and not pushy. Took pics of my face to find the rebate shade. I ended up getting Saphora powder foundation, blush, bronzer, and lip stain.
I am a make up failure when it comes to things like foundation, bronzer, concealer. I use mac for eye shadows and some mascara I got at target that I actually like. My liner I'm not sure the brand but its the only one i've been able to find like it and I love it.
I picked up a lip stain from sephora a month ago. I used it once at home (after trying in the store) and ended up not liking it.
I love the stila liquid liner i just picked up. Sadly i lost the maybelline one i had just bought and they didnt have any more when i went back to target. The maybelline works just as good as Stila and is half the price.
