Those with BOB strollers - how do you like yours? I see us using a stroller mostly outside for walks on sidewalks and trails, and only very very occasionally in places like shopping malls (I hate the mall and have gone maybe once or twice this year). We go walking almost daily during nicer months so this would be the main use. I like that it could be used for jogging too since we both jog, but H more than me. Do you think it could be used as our only stroller given that we only occasionally go to crowded places? We don't travel much either so not worried about something we could take on a plane. I could see us going to the zoo and museums once in awhile with him once he gets a bit older, and not sure what other kid related activities we might do that we aren't thinking of.
Anybody know of any good deals on them this weekend? I've searched some and it looks like a lot of places have them marked down to around $330. I've seen a lot of them on Craigslist for less than $200, some barely used from the sound of it, so we'll probably go that route if we can't find one under $300 new.
Any other stroller recommendations that handle rough terrain well? We're looking for something that can handle gravel and dirt trails well on a regular basis but could also be used day-to-day.
We have a baby jogger summit, which we got instead of the bob because the canopy is a little taller and folded back better. We noticed the bob canopy ends up behind the kids head when it is folded back. The summit has a better shape/structure and is still above DS' head at 40" tall. We also liked the looks of it better. Not runners, so can't comment on that, but it does have a swivel/licking wheel. It's great for gravel trails, grass, etc. love it. I know most seem to go for the bob so I'm sure you'll get lots of advice about that.
We love ours. We have an umbrella stroller as well that we use for very crowded areas or if we want to take our smaller car on a weekend trip (so we can fit our luggage in the back too) but the Bob really is our main go-to. We use it for walks, for running, for festivals, fairs, that kind of thing. We take it to the mall too with no issues, LOL. It's a little bigger than some other strollers but it handles really well and is very easy to navigate.

Thanks, I'll check that one out too. I should have mentioned we're going stroller shopping today, so glad to have some idea of other strollers people like.

We have it & love it. Haven't gone anywhere really crowded yet, but I wear him a lot too, so that is another option.
My mom got my bob this weekend last year from the target baby sale- the stroller was 20% off and she used a target cars for another 5% off and also went through ebates for more cash back. It was under $300 that way- closer to $250 I think.
I love mine. I do also have a smaller stroller but use my Bob for everything you described. The other stroller is just easier to keep in the car and still have room for shopping. If you are going to baby wear you could get away with only the Bob. I wear her in places where the Bob just doesn't fit like festivals and shopping at the mall.
I love mine too! It's a great stroller for walking and running outside. We also have an umbrella stroller for outings and travel. Lugging the bob around for stuff like shopping would probably not be so bad if we had a larger car and didn't take out dog with us so often.
We have one and love it. So far we've only used it for walks but I can see us using it for more once L gets older. Right now he's only 5 weeks old. I prefer the BOB to our Chicco Key Fit Caddy but we keep the Chicco in the car since it fits better.
We love ours! I walk a lot and H plans to run with it once ds is a little bigger.
When we're going to crowded spaces, we use our britax b-agile since it's a little smaller and lighter (and h is obsessed with the one hand fold...) but we have lots of friends who just use their bob for everything.
We love ours and use it as our primary stroller, even for traveling. If you think you'll use it for running, it is definitely worth it, but it is also great to use for just walking. It has a generous canopy and storage basket, but you will need to order the handlebar console separately if you want cupholders (and you will).
We also have a Maclaren Quest, which, like others, I often keep in the car for quick shopping trips, but I have used the BOB at the mall and such without any issues.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE mine. And I am not one to shell out for baby gear muchless rave about baby items.
It's awesome.
I run with it sometimes but mainly walk/jog. It's also my main stroller. Like you I'm rarely rolling through an arts and crafts fair or something with small corners. I've taken it to county fairs, the mall, expo sort of things with no problems. It's huge but it moves well.
I'm pretty strong so while it takes up a lot of space I don't find it overly hard to pack up and fold out.
I also enjoy the space it has for the kids. They seem comfy. DD doesn't complain at 3. The basket also holds a lot as do the pockets on the seat backs.
Like pp said, the lack of cup holders sucks and I'm too cheap for the console, but I've found ways to slide my drink in the mesh pocket. Either on the seat back or on the inside of the seat where the baby seats (He doesn't touch stuff yet).
It is by far my most loved and used baby purchase.
I have no idea about good deals. I used my Christmas check on it and 3 days later happened to see a sweet closeout deal on Amazon so I lucked out.
felicity we use our Bob Revokution almost exactly as you've described. DD will be 2 in November and loves her "strohder"! We got it from REI wih a 20% off coupon, and used our annual debate to brin the price down.
When are you due? DD was born in November, and I usually wore her for walks Dec- March (we live in a cold climate). We had the adapter to click her car seat into the stroller, but barely used it. You may be able to hold off on the stroller expense for a bit.
It is our most-used baby item through 2 kids. Purchased for a killer sale price 4 years ago for dd1, used daily, still looks great for dd2. I keep it in my trunk and run with it but also use it around the neighborhood.
I love ours and it's our main stroller. I still carry DS on my back when we go into crowded places, but it's definitely worth the money. DS isn't tall, but his head is close to the canopy when it's up. I just realized this summer that the two little straps on the top of the canopy are to pull it up to give more headroom. Doh.
Love it! I use it as my everyday stroller, plus I had the snap n go, a Ergo carrier, and a cheap $20 umbrella stroller (I don't recommend a cheapie umbrella for taller folks) I've had one for 8 years, but just recently ungraded to this. It is awesome and holds big cups of coffee and my mega sized water bottle.
Love our BOB. It is not our main stroller, but we use it anytime we will be outdoors. It handles grass, gravel, etc wonderfully. I also use it for running and DS often falls asleep during our runs. My only complaint is that the storage basket isn't great and I find it a little hard to access. (My main stroller is an uppa baby vista which is awesome in the storage dept - just it give you an idea of what I'm comparing it to).
I bought my bob last summer from amazon when it was on sale. I think I spent around $330 for it
We just bought one because living in Colorado, I wanted something that we could take on trails and hiking. I love it! I take it to the mall, to crowded festivals like our local farmers market and out hiking. We had a baby jogger city select that we were using prior and wish we had gotten a BOB from day one. We got the Flex version as DH is tall and the handle bar has 9 adjustable heights and I love that feature but it isn't necessary either.

I'm due early December and am planning on wearing too. We live in a coldish climate, but there are many days in the winter where it's warm enough to go out on walks, so I do plan on trying to get out some in the beginning. We are considering forgoing the infant car seat and going straight to a convertible, so wearing is probably the only option until he's old enough to go into the stroller.
Have had a BOB Revolution for just over three years and love it. Handles like a dream and love that the seat is so big. I've used it for jogging and all the scenarios you describe.
Also, it holds up really well. I had an UPPA Baby Vista with DS1 for the first 18 months and it was falling apart when we sold it and got the BOB.
We just went to the store and checked it out, and wow I do really like it. H seemed excited about it too (and he's pretty ho hum about baby products in general). It does seem huge even though when comparing online to the citi mini for example, the dimensions aren't actually that much bigger. Maybe it's those wheels that just make it look so big. I'm just really glad nobody was around when we were trying to figure out how to fold and unfold it lol. We were clearly first time parents in there. It wasn't light, but I don't think I'll have a problem getting it in and out of the car. Both of our cars have good sized trunks so I think it should fit okay and still have enough room.
Sorry to threadjack -- can anybody give me a quick xplanation of the difference between a BOB revolution, duallie, and ironman?
Thanks!
revolution - single stroller with large all terrain wheels. Front wheel can be set to fixed (for jogging) or not fixed (walking, easier to maneuver).
duallie - doubler version of the revolution
Ironman - wheel is fixed and I believe the wheels are a little sleeker/faster/larger than the Revolution. Good for people that want to run a lot but not as maneuverable for day to day outings.
felicity The rear wheels can be taken off (super easy and quick once you do it a few times) to make it smaller. I have a teeny tiny car and it fits in the trunk with one wheel off.
It was a great buy for us and every BOB owner I know loves theirs. They have great resell value too!

Ah good to know. That might come in handy if we go on any road trips and need more room or just have at on of stuff to haul.
I'm kind of wishing right now the resell value wasn't so great We're looking at used ones on Craigslist and they aren't cheap.

Thanks so much!! This is soooo helpful! I often seen it listed as "duallie double" and didn't realize they were just being redundant. We are not runners, but we do like to walk trails and need a stroller for that.
I love mine. At 7 months it's still the only stroller I have. I will look into an umbrella eventually but this works great for now. I typically wear DS in stores but have used the stroller no prob. I am also tall (6 ft) and have no issues with the height if that is a question for you or H
