H gets back today after almost 9 months away. I should clean, but my house is 90. And i took a long walk in the middle of the day which zapped all energy i might have had.
I'm thinking of using a couple nearby acquaintances for their pool. I can invite myself over if i bring wine, right? (I'm joking. Mostly)
That's awesome that he's coming home! I wouldn't worry about the cleaning.
I didn't clean much. Thankfully his flight got in early giving me an excuse
But because of the distance he traveled (maybe 15 hours?) and time zone changes (a mere 6) he went to bed at 8 and is starfishing all over. I've been going to bed around 2. I already was shoved off the couch. Now I'll be shoved out of bed.

Is this an old people thing, a thing that parents will do forever, or just a quirk my dad has. Either way, it's grating.
Why does my father feel the need to yell upstairs at 5:45am, announcing his departure for the day. I've given no indication that I'm up. I'll see he's fine when I get up.
Last night we went to Costco and ran into the different people we know from extremely random past experiences. Even DS saw someone he knows! It was Twilight-Zoney.

I think this is a man thing. My husband leaves everyday at around 5:00 in the morning so he can workout first. He is just starting to grasp that if he slams around and turns on lights and bounds down the stairs, that will wake up the other people in the house. He's gotten much better about this though. I started catching him and making him come back and handle whatever crying baby he'd awoken and he would miss his workout. Believe it or not, he still has trouble with this. But it's gotten much better.
You know, I think you're right. He slams the cabinets and doors too. Why.
I agree it's a guy thing. DH has this mentality he was "teaching" our kids to be able to sleep through loud noises. When he had to be the SAHP for several months, he quickly learned a new way of thinking.

I'm all jumpy now because 3 uniformed cops and an old lady with a serious looking stack of papers knocked on our door looking for someone. I think the previous tenants of our apartment must have been terrible, because we've also had repo men banging on our door in the middle of the night (incredibly terrifying because they didn't believe us and wouldn't leave) and people trying to serve us papers before.
It's not the weekend for me anymore but today I'm "interviewing" for some volunteer positions with a women's org/charity that seem pretty close to what I used to do for work. Please cross your fingers that this work is something that could plug a 3-5 year gap on my resume. I care more about the experience than the money at this point since beggars without work visas can't be choosers.
The suck is I had to work today, but the TOTALLY NOT SUCK is that my boss is on a plane at 12:30 tomorrow and will be UNAVAILABLE for a week and a half. As in, I will not be able to reach her, nor will she be able to reach me.

I write from an incredibly rainy camping trip. It was beautiful yesterday when we were driving, started raining last night, misty rained all day, broke enough that we could eat super outside, and now it's really raining again. 25% chance of precipitation, my ass.
The forecast here was ZERO percent precipitation ALL weekend! Yeah, it's rained everyday. Fucking weather idiots.
I ran 8 miles this morning and then came home and mowed the grass (push mower). I thought I was going to puke and have been non stop running errands and doing chores since. I am so tired!

We had a party this weekend that we bought several hundred dollars worth of food and alcohol for because we were expecting quite a few people. We had almost a dozen people who had RSVPed that they were coming cancel the day of or just no-show. We still had fun with the people who came, but that is so rude and annoying.
This party is an annual thing, and we run into this every year and we don't know what to do about it.
I stayed at my sisters for a baby-free night last night! Went shopping yesterday, had a nice dinner, and a good nights sleep. Heading for breakfast before I head back to DH and the kiddos.
