I'm on my porch waiting for my running partner to pick me up. We're meeting someone else and running 18. Should be fun. My first long run with companions.

We flew to the west coast yesterday, and my body is clearly still on eastern time, because I woke up at 4 am. I'm hiding in the hotel bathroom until either (1) others wake up, or (2) I find somewhere with coffee.
I am just getting up ( and old, because 730 is sleeping in for me!) I'm supposed to run 9 miles, and it's pouring rain. Luckily not much else is going on today so I'm going to wait it out.
Chilling this morning with the kiddos. Coffee in hand and researching running shoes. My wave rider 16's have given me PF so I am investigating different ones to try.

I am, even though it's my day to sleep in. I woke up at seven to the dog throwing up. DS is still asleep because he was exhausted from the football game and them swimming the night away at a cookout.

I am up. We have a 2 hour ride today but I am willing to bet my training partner flakes. I am irritated that she is doing her own thing and not following our schedule. She is going to end up injured again and I won't be surprised. Sorry for the rant this morning.
I am up. My sister is racing rock and roll this weekend - wish I were there. I have an hour until yoga class but may bail and accept a brunch invitation instead.
ETA: So I skipped yoga and just went to the gym for a 30 min workout before bunch. It was a good decision. The champagne bottles for my mimosas come out like this:

Finished a slow humid gross unmotivatig 7 miles. Pretty much the opposite of how I felt yesterday, but I feel good doing it anyways. And I hit my mileage goal for the month so yay! Now waiting for my running partners to finish up and then getting some coffee and sitting poolside for the rest of the day.
I'm running with my mamma today! We are both back (she was injured for several months, broken foot, shoulder tendinitis) and now we are both training for a half! We have 8 miles on the plan today. It's rainy and cool... Finally!
Early wake ups 6 days/ week make it impossible to sleep in the one day I can.
This. I want to be able to sleep in so badly, but my body is having none of it. Damn healthy habits
I got a babysitter to get my run in today. 8 with 4 at tempo. Summer finally decided to show up. Hmph. I need to rethink my goal pace for my half next Saturday

Summer is over as of Tuesday, I would like to invite the fall weather to come and visit!!

I wore Wave Riders for a while, but they started giving me horrible blisters. I have had great luck with Brooks Ghosts since then. I don't know if they would work for you, but it might be worth a shot?

I think I have officially entered "Crazy" territory. I was up at 4:30am...out the door by 5:45 to set my own little aide station and drive to the other end of the 10mi country road because that makes the hills in the middle instead of beginning and end. Running by 6:25...20 miles. I have one more long, long run before my taper. 22 in two weeks...I am in search of some flat ground...today was pretty brutal.

I almost melted on my long run yesterday morning. WTH, summer
Seriously! WTF is this shit. This was my longest run to date and the freakin' hottest and most humid - I wanted to die...and jump in the river...I only looked like i had jumped in the river b/c I was drenched from Head to Toe by like mile 5
Tried to edit my post above but couldn't add a pix. Good decision for a win/win to skip yoga and get a quick gym workout in before meeting friends for a boozy brunch. The champagne bottles for mimosas look like this:

Thanks for the suggestion. They are on my list to try. They are a good bit heavier than the the riders so I will see.
