My 19 yr old fractured her elbow two weeks ago. We bought bling (they self adhere as well, didn't want to mess with the glue) at the craft store for the cast. You can also make a tube of fabric to go over it and bling that.
They aren't sure if it is broken. The doctor thought it probably is, but it didn't show on the X-ray. So she keeps the cast for ten days and then they will remove it and reevaluate. It is a small bone in the wrist.
I was just reading the other thread and I feel like there's some misunderstanding about bumps on the head. An isolated scalp hematoma, while (according to recent studies) is not a significant indicator of traumatic brain injury in the absence of other symptoms in older kids, shouldn't be viewed as reassuring. It doesn't mean the swelling is going out and not in, and it is still clinically significant in infants.

This sounds like the break I had in my wrist as a kid, which didn't show up on the xray.
I'm so glad to hear she doesn't have a head injury!!

I had to have a temp cast for a fall as a kid too. It was good because I got to have the fun of a cast (a few days), but none of the real hassel of having a true break.
Aww, could have been much worse, right? I was in a cast for my first day of kindergarten and so was my husband apparently. No cool colours for us though.
