I'm doing the ice bucket challenge today and trying to come up with some creative way to do it (and yes, I'm donating as well). The kids are very excited to douse Mommy.
I'm also starting to seriously plan our 2015 UK trip - the "We're 40!" excursion - and am getting simply ecstatic about planning lodgings. The pictures on travel forums are AMAZING. I'm going to go see my people!
My studio computer died yesterday. I am going on tour on Tuesday. Because of labor day I cant get it fixed before I go on tour. I can order the parts on Amazon...but they wont arrive til wednesday. There are specialist stores locally that have the parts...but they are not open til tuesday. This creates massive difficulties for me, involving having to remove hard drives and buy docks that I cant afford and will only need once.
Fkin labor day. I hate it. Every year it screws me somehow. Usually its because I have a load of shop orders and am standing in the post office like a fkin idiot waiting for it to open, which it wont. I never know when its coming, or what will or wont be open. I hate it.

It's the first Monday of September. Every year. Lol.

Sorry about your computer.
Its one of a few random US days that we did not have in the UK. I cant remember them - shit, I dont know when easter is - somewhere after Xmas and before summer is the best I can do. And the rules of the day make no sense. Everything is closed. Except the malls? I guess? Or are some shops in the malls closed? Post office sure. UPS? I dont know. And some other place, picked out of some magicians hat. Seems to me its another excuse for banks to do fuck all and thats about it. Oh, and specialist computer shops, obviously lol.
I should also mention I have broken some toes on my left foot, separately to the fact I have also messed up my left wrist, and am deaf in my leaf ear. Right now, I have a broken computer, a broken left side of my body, and a broken marriage. Oh, and I'm flat broke.

I've been up since 330am & have to still manage to be sociable with the ILs and THEN not murder anyone at the airport. I may need someone near SeaTac to bail me out later.

I'm at the David after dentist "is this real life" stage of sickness where the medicine is worse than the symptoms but you just want to kill the virus with fire to be sure. Blah.

Why, when I open this thread, does some random video of Chinese traffic start playing??? It takes up my whole tablet screen and it's weirding me out. It's happened three times!!

Hey @ladydisdain why Earth Kingdom?

Because Toph was my favorite character in the whole series. I have to pay homage to her somehow; last time I did, I turned into an asshole.
I just spent a weeks worth of pay at Talbots buying a new fall wardrobe. I haven't bought new winter clothes in 2 years and everything I have is fuzzy. And I never bought pants in my current size as I was losing weight but I think I'm plateauing here at least for the time being and need real clothes for work. Some of it may go back and I'm feeling guilty for bulk buying not watching sales and buying off season. But having a personal shopper pick stuff out really appeals to me. I didn't like this lady as much as the last one, but the end result I think worked.
ETA: at one point I commented that i just needed the confidence to walk out the door in an outfit and she asked if people at work make fun of me all day or something. Well, kind of. Looking polished and like you're trying does get attention and I don't like it.

Seriously, I live like 15 minutes from there. If you need me to have a crisis to give you an excuse to meet me for coffee / cocktails, that can be done.

I'm trying to decide if this wool coat is a little Scandal-Season-1 and I should buy with my extra 30% off coupon or if it's just too short to be cute.
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley

Yay Talbot's! It's my favorite.
I can always count on my staff to unintentionally knock me down a peg--like when I started wearing makeup again and my staff kept telling me I looked tired. Or someone asked why I was so dressed up Wed--I was wearing my favorite dress but no makeup and I hadn't washed my hair in 3 days.
