Do I need to let my hair air dry to a curl, then touch it up with the beach spray? I was hoping to pull a quick one on my showered and straightened yesterday hair. frklsjillianashley6
I just got a bunch of long layers cut and the beach babe spray now works really well, wet or dry (I have some natural wave but no curls). When my hair was all one length, it didn't work at all. It definitely wouldn't have worked on straight dry hair.
I wash, brush, let it air dry for a few minutes, put in some Aveda Be Curly, and finish off with the spray. I can refresh the waves the next day with some more spray, if necessary.

It didn't work for me, either. I have long, straight, thick hair. The only beach spray that worked for me is Charlotte Ronson's and I think they stopped making it.

oh no! My hair is kind of layered, and I finger comb it through when it's sort of half dry, half wet, after some leave in conditioner. If my hair isn't cooperating, I sometimes twist it like someone else mentioned.

When I shower at night I brush it out, twist it up in a high bun (still wet) and sleep like that. Then in the am it will have sorta dried (about 30% maybe?) so I take it down, spray it in, then scrunch and use my hair dryer with a diffuser attachment to dry it the rest of the way. The curls then stay very well all day. I use a large toothed comb or brush to soften it after it's dry so it doesn't look gross and crunchy.
I have very thick hair but lots of layers, so maybe that's why it works? If I don't have layers my hair gets too heavy and my natural curls are weird.
So, the people that it works for.. How much exactly do you use? It says to use generously, and I have a lot of hair so I use a lot of it.. maybe I'm using too much?
My hair is just below my shoulders. I use 10-15 sprays, maybe? That's after my curl enhancing cream. Then I scrunch periodically until it's dry.
I definitely wouldn't use it on dry straightened hair. spray it on while hair is wet and let it air dry. I also used it to touch up my hair the next day by spraying a little water on my hair then adding some more product.
Eta: I don't scrunch after I initially apply it. I find my hair gets frizzy and unmanageable if I scrunch too much.
Really? You guys don't have a Walgreens? Lol, that's a nice aunt's MIL!
lol I thought this was a dig at Jersey hair
Ha! Not at all.
Canadian Target doesn't have this brand, and when my aunt came herself last month I didn't make the request and was kicking myself. She emailed me to say her MIL was going to visit my parents for a week and did I want anything, so I asked for a bottle.
