We went to jungle Jim's today which is this crazy grocery store with international foods from all different countries, exotic meats, etc.
Our haul: a 2lb guinea fowl, wild boar bacon, smoked Gouda, cranberry Serrano jelly, GF crackers, jasmine rice, a giant bag of Indian curry powder, a giant cream puff pastry, two kinds of loose leaf tea, and a mountain of exotic chocolate.
We are in for the weirdest, most delicious dinner ever.
“Life is not orderly. No matter how we try to make it so, right in the middle of it lose a leg, fall in love, drop a jar of applesauce.” - Natalie Goldberg
We're going to eat the bacon, crackers, cheese, and jelly as a pre-dinner snack. Then we'll have the guinea fowl and some other veggies for dinner. My H will have the pastry for dessert and I'll dig into the chocolate.
Guinea fowl is amazing. How are you cooking it? That was my main diet when I was a Peace Corps volunteer. Rubbed it down with onion, garlic and pepper. Sounds like a great dinner!
We're just doing a rub with garlic, onion, chili powder, paprika, salt, and then drizzle butter over it before roasting.

I have so much food in the fridge right now...and I'm still drooling over this. Enjoy your wonderful dinner!

I love the Jungle! My dad actually had Jungle Jim himself in class back in the day (before he dropped out). It's so crazy now, but we used to drive down from Oxford when I was a kid just to go there...we'd get crazy cheeses and hummus and pate and bread and eat it for lunch. Yum.
I have been to jungle Jim's before! And I made my husband take me back the next day since we were in town for a wedding, I didn't get to wander near as much as I wanted.

That was exactly what we did - we just wandered and threw things in the cart haha
Love Jungle Jim's! I always come out of there with way more than I plan on buying. And the bulk taffy by the checkout? I end up with about 5 pounds of it every single time.
I bet they have all kinds of passion fruit things at Jungle Jim's!
I walked past them dry heaving and pinching my nose.
But I bought earl grey tea chocolate so what the heck do I know.
No, I bet those are so good! The pastry chef at the restaurant where we had our reception made earl grey ice cream to go with a fruit tart one time. It was soooo good!
Also, we brine our Thanksgiving turkey in earl grey tea and spices every year.

It was so good. I bet earl grey ice cream is tasty too. Sort of like tea with milk and sugar.
