he has epilepsy and like an idiot got lazy with taking his medication. My dad found him in the guest bedroom trying to climb up and out a window and getting tangled in the blinds, blood and vomit everywhere. I'd never seen a grand mal seizure and didn't realize it could make him seem aggressive.
So scary, man. And I'm totally pissed that it's because he slacked on his meds. Wtf, man. I'm buying one of those huge pill sorters to put his meds in so I can make sure he takes it from now on. Now we're here in the ER triage waiting to see if they'll admit him overnight. I don't want to think about that ambulance ride cost right now.

How scary . I have epilepsy too, with grand mal seizures, and they are scary as shit. And being slack on the medications just make them worse. Sending good thoughts your way.
He knocked one of his teeth out and fractured two ribs.
Ugh, Olivia was nearby I had to call my sister to get her so my dad and I could restrain my H so he wasn't a danger to himself and her. Scariest moment ever. She cried

I don't pretend to be a neurology expert but are the doctors in agreement that this was a grand mal seizure? My brother had grand mal seizures too and I don't think either one of us experienced anything like what it sounds like your H was doing. Either way, it sounds horrifying and I am so sorry you and your daughter had to go through that.

I'm so sorry that he had a seizure. My best friend is epileptic and she is terrified of having another one since they are such a setback for her. I hope he recovers quickly and is able to balance his medications and be more careful about it.

He's had two before and says they weren't anything like this. The doctors agree that he had whatever signs they need to differentiate from petite mal and grand mal, but I know they're consulting if his upper respiratory infection made it worse. I don't have any knowledge about how these work normally.
