Update: we're home now, thanks for all the support.
Docs suppose that what we saw with him tangled in blinds was H having a "fight or flight" reaction or a longer clinic phase due to infection after the seizure. He was still weird for about 10 minutes and still didn't know what month it was when he reached the hospital. He was given meds and they monitored his infection, and it turns out he just bruised his ribs.
It's kind of scary that he was just sent home after this. We're scheduling a meeting with his neurologist tomorrow. He got his meds as soon as we got home.

I hope he finds a good way to remember to take his meds and this doesn't happen again. It must've been so scary for all of you. What a fright. ((Hugs)) take it easy ok.

I'm so sorry! That is so scary! I hope this is the wake up your H needs to take his meds as prescribed.
FWIW: I have epilepsy and grand mal seizures are the scariest things I have lived through in my life. I've had two in my lifetime when my medicine stopped working while I was taking it like clock work every day.
My dad is an epileptic and has grand mal seizures. After he comes out of them, and before he's really "right" again, he does weird shit. Like tries to screw a lightbulb into the coffee maker. Or folds the paper napkins into tiny squares.
Have you thought about getting him one of those medical necklaces or bracelets? My dad has had seizures while he's out and about before (alone), and his necklace has been really useful to let other people know.
