We had this 2 weeks ago. DS had a cough which was worse at night in his sleep, and a stuffy nose. We called pedi after 3 days and were told to bring him in. Ended up just being a cold but better safe then sorry. They had us using the cool mist humidifier, and putting baby rub on his feet then covering with socks under his sleep sack. Never heard of that but I guess its an old wives tale that they said works.

Whenever I've called about a cough they always ask about retraction: whether you can see in between baby's ribs when they breathe in (because that means they're struggling to breathe). I don't think it ever hurts to call and speak with a nurse though.
I'd call. Twice in the past few months, DS has had a cough that wasn't terrible, but it was persistent. And with the one- you eventually could hear something else going on. The first was bronchitis, the second was strep. I didn't wait as long the 2nd time because of the 1st time, and I was glad for that!
I would call. Well, we have an email option. We can email non urgent medical questions and the Dr will email you back if he thinks you should come in or other things you can do. Not sure you have that option so I would call for peace of mind.
And I gauge the cough by the sound of "severity." DD seems to get a cough when the weather changes and all winter but it seems shallow not deep, she can get air fine and while she has coughing fits in her sleep they're not constant.
DS kind of does the same.
I take them in if it's deep sounding or it seems to bother them.
That little, I'd probably get it checked just so you know what you're looking for next time at least.
