No one needs to read the entire ML thread. On page 2, someone took the time to write this:
I'm the same. I got rid of any movie we had with Angelina or brad in it. Except oceans eleven because my love of George Clooney trumps my hatred of brad.
There's no reason to read beyond that.
Yes, yes there is because they have a field day with that one. lol
I refused to buy or rent anymore Johnny Depp movies when he left Vanessa Paradis for Amber Heard but that's because everything he's made in the last 6 years or so has been complete and utter garbage.
I have david's bridal snobbery in my heart. I admit it. Mostly just because I've been made to buy 3 bridesmaid dresses from there and every time they pull that thing where they tell me that I need a size 18 and I talk them down to a 16 and then my seamstress has to take like 3 inches off of the side seams.
It annoys me. I get that sizing is different for bridal stuff, but you can't tell me those fuckers aren't just trying to gouge me on the alterations. Which I never have done there anyway!
The only DB dress I've ever purchased that didn't need to be massively taken in was purchased while TTC and worn around 5(?) months.
I think this is true of all wedding shops though.
I bought my dress at... shit... now I can't remember the name of the shop, but it was a chain. Anyway, I had to have it altered substantially. And my BM dresses were just a specific designer, so people could use whatever shop they wanted to to order those as long as the shop carried the dress. Every single one of them had trouble with alterations. My cousin who is 5'3" and 95 lbs was told to order a size 8. She looked at the measurements and said she wanted a 6 and they told he that if she went a size 6, it would need to be let out and they wouldn't be able to do it because the dress was taffeta and would show the seam marks - basically, get a size 8 or we'll refuse to alter it. So she ordered the 8 and it was SO HUGE it actually *couldn't* be altered down to her size because of the darts on the front and something about a pleat in the back or whatever - it essentially had to have every panel of fabric recut and sewn. So, they told her she needed to order a size smaller (which she knew from go) but it would have to be rush ordered and rush altered and there was an extra fee for that... Long story short, she got the dress and the alterations at no extra charge because she and I have the same anger management problems. It runs in our family.
Anyway, that was a digression. Point being, all wedding dress shops suck.
That hasn't been my experience. I've been a bridesmaid eight times and of those the most annoying alterations have all been on DB dresses. Maybe I've just gotten lucky? They're also my least favorite of my assorted dresses. Again, except for the most recent one, which is a totally cute black dress with a square neckline and little cap sleevish/strap thingies.
I think the dress itself is fine. I HATE the drawings. There are literally a gazillion ways to incorporate your kids' "touch" into your wedding without doing that. Don't they know about Pinterest?!?!
I think Brangelina are weird. But, I'm weird, so I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing. Angelina has always marched to the beat of her own drum (blood in vials whut?). Brad was just waiting to break away from the norm, I think. What with his inability to recognize faces and all. Aniston was just too normal for him.
And to further the randoms, i've only had one DB bridesmaid dress and I hated it, but it did not need alterations and i think the reasons it was so bad were my SIL's fault (she got married in July, and this dress was heavy, long, with a layer of crinoline under the taffeta skirt and then another liner under that one.) I'm getting hot just thinkng about it.
The worst BM dress I had though was also the most expensive one, and it was nice material (raw silk) but all the alterations in the world could not make that thing fit. Every BM looked frumpy in it, which was a shame because it could have been a pretty dress.

people keep mentioning this? what is this? is this a real thing?

Yeah, it's an actual medical condition. Lemme see if I can find it.
Pitt told Esquire that he has such a hard time remembering the faces of those he meets, he thinks he might suffer from prosopagnosia, or face blindness, though he has not been tested or diagnosed with the disorder. We're not sure whether the actor was being facetious or not, but he said even having a "real conversation" doesn't help.
"So many people hate me because they think I'm disrespecting them," Pitt told the magazine. "I took one year where I just said, This year, I'm just going to cop to it and say to people, 'OK, where did we meet?' But it just got worse. People were more offended. ...You get this thing, like, 'You're being egotistical. You're being conceited.' But it's a mystery to me, man. I can't grasp a face, and yet I come from such a design/aesthetic point of view. I am going to get it tested."
(For more on face blindness, check out this 2011 video of CNN's Sanjay Gupta speaking with Dr. Oliver Sacks, a famed neurologist who has face blindness. Occasionally, Sacks said he had trouble recognizing his own face.)
On Thursday, Carnegie Mellon University invited Pitt to have his brain imaged and be examined by Marlene Behrmann, a neuroscientist, professor of psychology and a member of the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition within the university's Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
"Carnegie Mellon is one of the very few places that can both test for face blindness and perform the brain imaging in our state-of-the-art imaging center," Behrmann said in a press release.

I know it's an actual medical condition, but when he came out with this, I thought "Or, you're just SOOO famous and meet SOOO many people - it's hard to remember them/ where you met them/ why you met them, etc. SO let's just say that you can't remember faces....".

I hate raw silk. The texture skeeves me and really, it lends itself best to structured things like suits.

That was the problem. It didnt look right with the BM dress - the bodice was structured but not the rest of it. but even the structure of the bodice wasnt right - the bust was too big for the straps or something.
The dress was 250 and then I think I paid another hundred in alterations and it still looked awful.
I was also 4 months post partum, but the dress just fit poorly, lol. At least that's my story!!

I still feel bad about how expensive my BM dresses were. Or I feel bad about it with respect to one of my cousins (not the one referenced above). The cost of the dress spiraled out of control for her in many many ways that were just awful. But started with it being too expensive for a BM dress to begin with. I think by the time all was said and done, she had spent $500 on that dress. Ten years later, I probably should have just used DB and no one would even have cared.
NewOrleans was just in a wedding with the best BM dresses I've seen ever. She promised pictures, so... I kind of want to see those because 1. The dress was gorgeous and 2. we all know she rocked that shit.
the one with the long black dress that she posted on here? I want to see pics too!
WHO WAS HATING ON DAVID'S BRIDAL??! HOW DO YOU HATE ON DAVID'S BRIDAL?? It's just a wedding dress shop. Are there wedding dress snobs the way there are coffee and wine snobs? Oh well. I drink gas station coffee, anyway, so I'm sure I already didn't make the chic-enough-cut.
Yes. Not me, cause I wore a DB dress, but yes, people do hate on it.
I wore one too and loved it. I shopped alone for it-my Mom had just died and they picked the perfect dress and it was not expensive and I loved it - so the haters can stick it.
See I think the reason I hate on Alicia but not Angelina is I get the feeling all wasn't right in the Pitt-Aniston universe. He spent that whole marriage talking about his raging case of the babies and she spent the whole marriage going uhm, can we do that later if ever?
Meanwhile, it feels to me like the former Mrs Swizz Beats was all tralalala love my life, love my husband WHOSE BED YOU BEEN CREEPING IN, SWIZZ??? And I feel like they made her look crazy. And he and Mashonda had a kid together and he has like two other kids besides the one with Mashonda and now Alicia.
Yes, these are all flimsy reasons. Gossip is a buffet, yo lolol
This is how I feel! I will also admit I am a brangeloonie!

I love those additional photos of all the kids. Shiloh is such a little tomboy. I love it. ( I need to look up that blog with suri cruise if it's still being done. Haven't read it in awhile, her fictional hate of Shiloh... I'm sure there are comments on the top hat!)
I was totally team Jennifer back in the day. I think it was just that it all happened during the height of friends and she really was the current Americas sweetheart. It was hard to watch her be humiliated and hurt. But she's over it and time has passed. At the same time I think Angelina still had a bit more of a sinister crazy reputation from her earlier days so it was easy to put all blame on her for "stealing brad Pitt.". I have a ton of respect for her now though. She really is a celebrity who had used her influence and money to make the world a better place. I bet the only reason these photos were released to magazines was to raise money that could be donated somewhere. Otherwise I bet they would've just kept the memories to themselves.
I don't like the dress....at all. The drawings make it look even worse. Sorry, I had to say it. The dress itself looks dated, circa mid 90's. The back looks like my refrigerator. Maybe she should have had those magnetic ABC letters fastened on it.

I don't have any pictures yet! The photog. will probably have them online soon since the wedding was 3 full weeks ago.
Also, I feel like every picture of Angelina and Brad touching each other is borderline porn. And it's not because they are in a state of undress, but their sexual attraction to each other jumps out of the photos at me. Like they are so clearly into each other. I can't think of another couple I ever notice that with, either.
YES! I remember refusing to see Mr. and Mrs. Smith at first, and when I finally did and observed their chemistry, I was like no wonder he left Jen, lol.

Yeah, I saw it just after the news broke that he left Jen. I was all, "oooooh, I understand now."

I think I had the opposite problem with bm dress alterations. I am convinced this shop was trying to get me to order a dress that was way too small so I'd have to order a new one. I went in for measurements and came out with like 3 different sizes for those measurements. They told me over and over to order to fit the smallest measurement because its easier to let out than take in. This meant they wanted me to order a 4 or something insanely small. I was like "why would I order a 4 when my hips are a 10???"
They let me order the size I wanted but I had to throw a fit for it.
BTW, when it arrived, the dress I ordered needed no alterations other than a hem.
Yeah, I've just never liked Brad and Angelina. Maybe it's what pixy said. I think they're weird. I don't know. I don't have a hate on them because of Jennifer Aniston, either, because I'm meh about her, too.
As far as the dress and pics go....they really just don't do anything for me. Maybe I'm dead inside.
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley
Mr and Mrs Smith is so underappreciated. It's a great movie and they are great together in it.
This movie is fabulous. I always forget about it. But it is hilarious and so true in so many ways. The use of a minivan was inspired. Yeah. Outstanding movie.
I love when he trips and accidentally shoots at her car.
What makes that entire movie so fucking awesome is it captures the complacency of marriage even in the midst of shit blowing up and people shooting at you.
