Wow! Looks like I missed quite a bit! Anyway, she is not normally a flake so I am trying to keep my cool over it. She has been showing up 10 minutes late on a fairly regular basis so I'm going to change her start time for the fall.
As she's a regular... I'm assuming you'll talk to her about this tomorrow. You'll have to let us know what she says. I really hope she expresses a LOT of remorse. At least for me, that can go a long way (we had a sitter who the FIRST time we lined her up, she forgot. But her reaction to it and how she tried to apologize and make up for it- I KNEW it was a genuine mistake and she's since become one of our regular sitters).
That is really fucked up. After you didn't respond to her text (which I suspect was imaginary) she should have CALLED you to make sure she got through. That's kinda important.
When my sitter would sent me texts about being ill and I didn't respond, she was lighting mine and my husbands phone up until we knew what was going on. That's what a responsible sitter would do.
I don't know if I could trust her to make good decisions with my kids if she can't have respect for you as a parent.
