B woke up when I opened his door at 7:45, drank a little milk, attempted to eat pineapple then spit it out and was back asleep by 9. He seems okay, just tired still. His fever was down to 99.1, which I guess isn't a fever anymore so I didn't give him any medicine. This virus must be kicking his butt though. Do you think I can take him to the coffee place around the corner just for some fresh air or keep lounging around?
ALSO a WWYD? My Little Sister texted me this weekend that she needed another binder for school and could I help. I texted her mother back and I am picking her up this afternoon to go pick out a binder. Do you think it would be weird if I asked her if she wanted to pick out some sneakers too? I don't want to overstep my place but I always liked getting a new pair of sneakers for the first day of school. She's turning 14 soon if it matters.
Just back to work. M seems to be finally getting better. We are down to 2 breathing treatments a day. I am so ready for fall weather. It will probably be 2 more months until the real fall weather comes in down here.
@notquiteblushing I don't think it's weird to buy her shoes if you wanted to. My sister still buys me random things and we are adults. She does it because that's what she likes to do.

Thanks, just to clarify, she's not my biological sister. We were matched through the B.ig Br.other B.ig Sister organization.
No rant, but both DH and I are glad to be back at work today. DS kicked our asses this weekend with the attitude. He is doing pretty well with PTing, so that's a plus at least.
I've had a sick baby since Thursday. Sick babies are for the birds. I'm sitting in my driveway because he fell asleep on the way from the doctors. It's also the first time since 10pm he hasn't even screaming all night.
Today was M's first day of pre-school. He walked right in and sat at the table. He had on his stoic face. It was sweet. A had a fit going into pre-k today. She has been having a hard time and I don't know how to make it better.
I am both enjoying my quiet house, and a little sad.
I don't think it would be weird to buy sneakers - maybe ask what she's wearing on her first day and go from there.
There is a giant red velvet cake in my fridge. Send help.
OMG I love red velvet cake SO MUCH. Nom nom nom
H has gained 10 pounds is the last few months. Apparently my late pregnancy/BF eating habits have ribbed off on him. I should probably cut back on desserts, but ice cream! Pie! Cake!
I have a twy sentwa question. Is it normal for young kids to mistake letters for ones that look similar? (Like P and B, R and K, M and W.) C is pretty good at identifying letters of the alphabet but always transposes a few.
We are TTC #3 and my cycles have always been long/crazy. But the last two cycles of charting I ovulated on day 20. So this cycle we've been having sex every day or every other day for the past week and so far it's day 24 and no ovulation yet. OMG, I'm tired. Even DH is getting sick of all the sex. Come on body - just release an egg already!

Oh yeah, definitely normal. DS1 did that for a while last year. He's 3.5 now and even yesterday he told me a 5 was a 2 on a digital clock. Even thought he hasn't gotten numbers or letters mixed up in a long time.
So, we had a bat take up residence outside one of our windows last weekend (shudder). I was complaining about it to DH last night, and this morning I found a post-it note stuck upside down to the window that said, "While we do appreciate the opportunity to house you for an evening or two, we believe it is time for you to find a new home. Best of luck on your journey. Sincerely, The ______ Family."
LOL. We'll see if he comes back or if the eviction notice worked...
it's 7:20 and he's already down for his first nap. thanks to getting up at 5:30.
on the plus side, I have unloaded and loaded he dishwasher, started a load I laundry, cleaned up the kitchen a bit, and now I'm folding laundry from yesterday. hopefully the rest of the day is as productive!
Random 1: DS1 walked right into 1st grade today super confident, like he'd never even left for the summer. It is so much fun to see him doing so well.
Random 2: DS2 has been SO LOUD lately. Maybe his ear are plugged (not likely since he can hear me when I whisper). Or maybe he's just being annoying. It hurts my ears.
Random 3: DS3 has been sleeping like crap for the past week. He wakes up howling in the middle of the night and refuses to go back to sleep unless we are cuddling him. I'm all for toddler cuddles, but dude, I'm tired. 3:30am, 4:40am, and midnight are not prime quality-cuddle times. Last night we tried just bringing him to our bed around 11:30 to see if that would help. He slept, but I didn't. He was all.over.me. *yawn*
@notquiteblushing Do you know that she hasn't gotten new school shoes already? If she has, I would at least wonder if her mom would think you were stepping on toes. It sounds like you have her mom's number. Could you just text and say that while you're out shopping you'd like to get her some shoes as well because that was one of your memories from starting school each year? That way mom has an opportunity to decline the offer, but saying that it is one of your memories also reframes it a bit from "I don't think you can provide for your kid" to "I'd like to do this for your kid."

Oh Woops! I still stand by that it's not weird. That seems like a natural progression in those relationships. I think it would be very nice.

I really hope so because DD still confuses lower case d and b all the time when she's reading. And as a throwback to our French preschool days, she still thinks of "h" as a silent letter. Last night, she looked really confused when I told her the "w" in "who" is silent and just said, " so it's pronounced 'o'?"
DS tried to steal an apple from a little girl at the gym. She must have been eating it by the blanket he was sitting on. I heard her telling her mom as we were leaving and her mom told her not to leave her snack by the babies since they might not be allowed to eat those foods yet. It was definitely DS, as all the other babies were older. Apparently DS is ready to try apples! Lol.
Grocery store next. Hopefully it isn't busy, I really don't want to go.
DS starts in the older infant room today. He's slowly transitioned over the past two weeks and the head teacher was just promoted from his old room, so it's not totally new to him. He looked a little nervous for about 30 seconds, then a few kids showed up and he started crawling after them like, 'Hey guys, I'm ready to play' He was so cute!
It's also the first time he's wearing shoes (he was fitted this weekend). He still refuses to stand in them, so hopefully all the older kid peer pressure will be good for him. He currently acts like his feet are broken when I try to get him to stand, lol

M knows his letters but does the same thing. Lower case throws him a lot.
M has had such a word explosion or maybe it is just the H and I are getting better at figuring out what he is trying to say. I am feeling kind of bad because maybe he really has been saying stuff the past couple months but I just had no cool what he was saying.
I think I need to wash his keens because now when I take them off he lifts his feet up and says "Pee uuu".

J is 7 months today!
Latest cute moves - he gets tummy down on the floor and looks/reaches under the couch for toys. So cute! He also tries to climb out of the PNP. He pulls himself up from the top and managers to start scaling the side a bit. Ugh.

Max was not a fan of school. The director informed me that he cried off and on all morning. As I walked down the hall I could hear him sobbing. He cried until we were on the bike and headed home.
When I asked him to say goodbye he replied, "I can't"
Now he is repeating the Daniel Tiger song about grownups coming back over and over as he eats his lunch
I have Daniel Tiger songs stuck in my head. You know you are a mom when Daniel Tiger is in your head. This is really the first time I have has a "know you are a mom. . . ." moment.
