I read that drooling is unrelated to teething and more related to sticking everything in their mouths. It was 4 months of heavy drooling for us pre teeth

Definitely normal. DD started drooling and gnawing like crazy at 2 months but her first two teeth (bottom) didn't cut through until just after 6 months.

Massive drooling started right at 8 weeks for DD. I think that's when the salivary glands start working. She just started cutting her first tooth a few days ago (just under 7 months).
I thought the same thing when my oldest was that age. Everyone who saw him (and his soaked shirts) would tell me how his tooth must be ABOUT to pop through! Annnnd then he got his first tooth at 7 months old. lol.

A also started drooling like crazy around that age, but is just now cutting her second tooth. Her first one popped a few weeks ago. They're both bottom front teeth, which is the common first ones.
