DH saw them (I had already left). Glad it was for something good/happy, that isn't always the case with police in my neighborhood.

We have a walking school "bus" for our neighborhood. But never any police... ours is ran by the school's Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students).

I think it's a great idea!

That's cute. There is a walking bus we pass most days for the local public school. We walk (1mile each way) almost every day (it's nice out) to the private school we send our kids. Often we meet up with friends along the way but the 4 kids of my own is a lot alone. I see lots of kids walking/riding or waiting at a bus stop (2 different private schools have pick ups on our path). It does feel more friendly/neighborly this way. Everything is parents only though..no cops or school staff.
