I love DS's teacher. We send in $5 a month and she buys snacks for the class. It's usually fruit and some sort of cracker or pretzel, just something small to tide them over.
Here's the list of snacks for Andrew's class for the first part of this year. Like I said, he goes to a hippy school when it comes to food. Each line is the snacks for the day. We don't have to send it plates, cups, or napkins. They also cut up the fruit for us.

Wow that seems... Intense. It seems bizarre that they would require you to make homemade granola and specify which brand of cheese to buy.
But I am copying this list for snack ideas for DS lol.

They gave us a booklet that has the recipes and reasons for their choices. They specify the cheese because of added hormones and whatnot. Like I said, they're trying to start a movement here in GA and nationwide. I knew what I was getting into when I enrolled him. I actually like the idea of him getting quality, unprocessed, natural snacks at school. He's very monkey see, monkey do at this point, so if he sees his friends munching on snap peas and figs, he'll do the same. That doesn't stop me from giving him goldfish when he gets in the car, though.
