Didn't someone post an article recently about the maleness of Pinterest? Wait - did I post it?? LOL It's too early for this shit.
Someone did. It was originally started to be a place that men could look at tech things, I think. Even the logo suggests that it was not originally intended to be a crafting website.
Words cannot express my horror at #22. If I were a Pinterest user that sign might be enough to make me quit.
And fucking Buzzfeed labeling it as a "funny" sign. No.
I always am suspicious of places that make the offices so nice with all of the relaxation areas and free food... because it makes me think that you are supposed to be working there 24/7, so obviously they will throw some free food and a place to nap at you to lessen the blow.
Exactly. I prefer my sterile work environment knowing I don't have to be here more than 40 hours a week.

It's also how they soften the blow of all the "funny" jokes.
Chobani in the fridge and flowers everywhere is much better for the bottom line than firing superstar programmer Ron Roofie.

#22 is awful. Good lord.
My company does a lot of the perks there... Lots of free food - cereal and milk always available, usually lots of leftovers from meetings. Also free beer and hard cider. Our conference rooms are all themed and exquisitely decorated. One is after the Beatles, one featuring world music artists, one after nascar/racing...
We sometimes work long hours - that's the curse of being global and dealing with time zone differences, in addition to being event marketing with events on weekends or evenings. But they also let us take a fair amount of liberty with flex time. Like last week I was able to take Wed and Thurs "off" and work from home with no penalty or time out of my vacation.

Yup, that's the idea and the expectation in tech.
One of the perks of working for a nutter-level libertarian is we go easy on the perks and hours. We pay well, expect you to do your job, then go home and live your life. But we do have snacks and bagel Friday. Paying for your own Diet Coke is a high level crime in the 408/650.
